Richard I

(fn. 4) These early occs. difficult to explain, unless Richard was a vice-archdcn., perhaps to be identified with Richard who occ. as archdcn. of Worcester dioc. [May 1112 × Feb. 1114] and [1115 × 23] (see above p. 105). Presum. succeeded Gervase, because occ. [1151 × 57] (T. Madox, Formulare Anglicanum (1702) p. 52; cart. of Lanthony: P.R.O., C.115/K2/6683 i. 68 and vi. 43; B.M., Campbell ch. xviii. 9). (fn. 5)

Hugh de Cantilupo, precentor of York c. 1258-1267 (see York Minster Fasti 1 15).
