PREBENDARIES OF BROWNSWOOD (fn. 1)

The lists in the prebendal catalogues give a wrong sequence after the first four names. In the course of the re-arrangement of the names, two or more names may have dropped out of the lists. The order of names in the catalogues is as follows:

Airicus Airicus
Ric. de Aurival Ricardus de Aurivall'
Rad. de Lang' Radulfus de lang'
Will. de Costentin Willelmus Costant'
David Brand regis clericus
Brand regis clericus David
Rob. de Sandon Robertus de Sandon
Laurentius Romanus Laurent' Romanus
Ric. de Sandford Ricardus de Stanford'
Joh. de Cheham
(hucusque in manu antiq. et ead.)
Johannes de Cheham
Adam de Writele Adam de Writele
Hen. de Newerk Decan. Ebor. Henr' de Newerk decanus Ebor'
Rog. de la Legh Rogerus de la leighe
Joh. de Leicestr. Johannes de leycestr'
Henr. Brante Saraceni de Urbe Henricus Branke saraceni de urbe

The correct order, so far as it can be ascertained, is given below. It will be noted that there are two gaps, between Brand or Robert de Sandon and Richard de Stanford, and between John de Cheham and Roger de La Legh.
