Ordinance for Mr. Beck to be an Officer of the Court of Wards.
An Ordinance was read Thrice, for appointing Mr. Gabriell Becke to perform and execute the Place which Mr. Myles Corbett had in the Court of Wards; and Agreed to, and Ordered to be sent down to the House of Commons, and desire their Concurrence therein.
Staunton, Minister of Kingston's, Petition for an Allowance out of the Impropriation.
Upon reading the Petition of Edmund Staunton, Minister of Kingston upon Thames; desiring, "to have an Increase of Maintenance, out of the Impropriation of Mr. Wm. Murry, which is alledged to be sequestered:" But, upon Information that Mr. Murrie's Estate is not yet sequestered, it is Ordered, That the Petition shall be respited until this House hears further of the Business.
Ordinance to prevent Desertion of prest Men from the the Army.
Next, the House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to take into Consideration the Ordinance giving Power to Committees to proceed against Soldiers that run from the Army.
The House being resumed;
The Earl of Essex, Earl Bolingbrooke, Lord Viscount Say & Seale, the Lord North, and the Lord Wharton, to consider and (fn. 1) make Alterations therein, according to the Sense upon the Debate of the Committee.
Their Lordships, or any Two, to meet when they please; and Mr. Serjeant Fynch to assist them.
Committee for assessing the Peers.
Ordered, That the Committee that are appointed to assess Lords of this House shall meet on Friday next, and consider of the Assessments that are brought into this House.
Adjourn.
