Mr. Serjeant Fynch and Mr. Page return with this Answer from the House of Commons:
That they agree to the referring the Consideration of the Instructions, and Manner of the Treaty, to the Committee of both Kingdoms, and that they shall report the same to both Houses; and they also agree, and have named a Committee, to meet with the Committee of Lords, to draw up a Letter to be sent to the Parliament of Scotland.
Dr. Aylett, &c. returned with this Answer from the House of Commons; concerning sparing the Life of Sir John Hotham: That they will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Message to the H. C. that Sir J. Hotham's Life may be spared.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Page and Dr. Aylett:
To desire their Answer concerning the sparing of Sir John Hotham's Life, because To-morrow is the Day appointed for the Execution of him.
Message to them, for an Answer about the Earl of Manchester's Business.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Serjeant Whitfield and Mr. Serjeant Fynch:
To desire an Answer, (fn. 1) as soon as it may stand with their Conveniency, touching the Conference concerning the Narrative touching the Earl of Manchester's Business.
Ordinance to exclude Members of both Houses from Offices, Civil or Military.
The House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to consider of the Ordinance concerning the Members of both Houses not *being employed in Civil or Martial Affairs during this War.
The House was resumed.
And it was reported to the House, "That the Committee have considered of the Ordinance; and are of Opinion, That a Select Committee be nominated, to consider of Alterations upon the whole Ordinance, and to report the same to this House."
And accordingly these Lords following were nominated Committees:
