Stated in royal mand. that although bp. had accepted Kildesby as preb., chapt. still unwilling to install (ibid.). Adm. by chapt. Aug. (Bodl. Libr., MS. Ashmole 794 f. 81). Royal prohibns. 19 Oct. 1342 against persons supporting claims of de Amelio, papal provisor, to preb. (CPR. 1340-1343 pp. 561-2). Mand. to arrest supporters of de Amelio, 10 Nov. (ibid. p. 584). Bryane prov. to preb. void by d. of de Amelio, and occupied by Kildesby, 29 Oct. (ibid. p. 141). Kildesby d. before 17 Jan. 1351 and Bryane appears to have gained possession but displaced by prov. of Clavile 25 Apr. 1353 (ibid. p. 244). Bryane regained preb. Jan. 1357 when Clavile prov. to precentorship. Clavile did not gain possession of precentorship, but does not appear to have contested preb., since Bryane occ. Oct. 1366 (Reg. Langham p. 55).
