1350-1400

M. Hugh de Monyton D.Th. 1350.

Expect. 1 June 1350 (CPL. 111 364).

M. Robert de Middelond D.Th. 1351-1367.

William de Mugge 1351-1381.

M. Richard Norreys B.Cn. & C.L. 1351-1362.

Middelond had expect. 19 May 1349 (CPL. 111 274); coll. to him n.d. in succession to John de Reynham; in possession Easter term 1351 (D. & C. Ex. 2794; CPP. 1 312; see above p. 32). Royal gr. to Mugge 12 July (CPR. 1350-1354 p. 114; Reg. Brantyngham 1 182). Norreys had expect. 24 July 1342 (CPR. 111 79); papal conf. 20 Oct. 1351 as preb. in succession to Paul Bray (Reynham's predecessor) (CPP. 1 322). It seems probable that Norreys must have gained possession of another preb. in Exeter, because both he and Middelond occur in a/c rolls throughout 1351, and Easter term 1357 (D. & C. Ex. 2794, 2795). Norreys d. by 3 Feb. 1362, and succeeded by John Chaundos (Reg. Grandisson 111 1475; see below p. 36). At the other preb. (that of Bray and Reynham), Mugge replaced Middelond in a/c rolls from Midsummer term 1357, and Middelond complained 20 March 1358 that he had been expelled by one of the k's clerks (D. & C. Ex. 2795; CPP. 1 328). Royal mand. 16 Feb. 1359 for arrest of those prosecuting appeals against k's right of pres., recovered in ct. of Common Bench (CPR. 1358-1361 p. 219). Middelond had papal conf. 25 June (CPP. 1 312). Litigation in progress 21 Nov. 1362 (ibid. p. 386). Both occur in a/c roll Easter 1364, possibly suggesting that Middelond had secured another preb. in Exeter (D. & C. Ex. 2796). Middelond occ. 19 Dec. 1365 and M'mas term 1366; d. by 20 Sept. 1367 (CPP. 1 510; D. & C. Ex. 2797; Reg. Brantyngham 1 232; cf. CPR. 1367-1370 p. 14; York Chapter Library, Acta Capitularia 1352-1426 f. 93b). Mugge's estate ratif. (in preb. of Bray and Reynham) 31 July 1369 (CPR. 1367-1370 p. 291). Occ. 14 Jan. 1381 (D. & C.
