Bassett qualifies for Restitution in Blood.

JOHN Bassett, who hath exhibited his Bill to be restored in Blood, took the Oaths of Supremacy and Allegiance, according to the Statute, and delivered a Certificate for the receiving of the Communion, etc.

His Restitution Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Restitution in Blood of the said John Bassett.

Exception taken to his Restitution.

And, for that it appeared, by the Bill, that the said John Bassett himself had killed an Officer of Justice, for which he had Judgement of Death, and was afterwards pardoned, Exception was taken to the Restitution of himself.

And it was therefore put to the Question, whether the said Bill should be committed or not; and Agreed, Not be committed, per omnes.

Then it was put to the Question whether the said Bill should be Rejected or not. And Agreed per omnes, To be Rejected.

Petition of Right.

The Vote passed Yesterday post meridiem was read, That the House should this Morning proceed to the Accommodation of the Point of Imprisonment, in the Petition of Right. And thereupon the House was put into a Committee.

After long Debate thereof, the House was resumed, and this Business referred to the former Committee; who presently withdrew; but, not having agreed thereon, returned; and then the House was resumed again.

Adjourn.

Dominus Custos Magni Sigilli declaravit præsens Parliamentum continuandum esse usque in diem crastinum, videlicet, diem Veneris, 16m diem instantis Maii, hora nona, Dominis sic decernentibus.
