Put to the Question, and generally Assented unto.

And returned to the Commons, with Two Provisos thereunto annexed.

Confirmation of Hospitals, &c.

The Bill for Confirmation of Hospitals and Freeschools, was also sent down to the Commons this Day, by

Mr. Serjeant Richardson and Sir Robert Rich.

E. of Cleveland's Privilege. Hancock's Arrest.

This Day Peter Bradshaw was brought to the Bar, to answer his Contempt, for the Arrest of James Hancock, Servant to the Earl of Cleveland; and, for that it appeared before their Lordships, that he knew not the said Hancocke to be the Earl's Man at the Time of the Arrest, he was dismissed; and Hancocke was set at Liberty, and the Sheriffs of London and the Keeper of The Compter in Woodstreet discharged for the same.

To prohibit the Exportation of Wool, &c. and Fuller's earth.

To restrain Disorders among the Clergy.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act to restrain and prevent the Disorders that are, or may be, in Ministers of God's Word.

The Lord Bishop of Lincolne sent this Day his Acknowledgement to the House, concerning their Lordships Demand, as by the Order of the 17th of this March: videlicet,

Ep. of Lincoln's Submission, touching Pinckney's Complaint.

"May it please your most Honourable Lordships,

"Your Lordships having resolved the Order touching Pinckney, of the 28th of May 1624, to be an Order of that most Honourable House, truly and justly entered; I do most willingly acknowledge as much; and am very sorry that, through a weak Memory, and Information of some Parties interested, who pretended to have searched the Clerk's Book the 29th of May 1624, and to have found there at that Day no Ground at all for any such Order, I have had in my Thoughts some Scruples to the contrary, to the offending of that most Honourable House, or any one of the Lords of the Sub-committee; who (as I now understand) have subscribed the said Order. And I do humbly desire your most Honourable Lordships in general, and those Noble Lords in particular, to pardon the Error I have herein committed; and I shall pray unto God to bless and prosper your most Honourable Lordships.

Captives in Barbary.

For that the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury is so infirm that he cannot repair unto the House, these Lords following, or any Four or Three of them, are appointed to go unto his Grace this Afternoon, and to receive the Account of the Money collected to redeem the English Prisoners at Algiers: videlicet,

It is this Day Ordered, That the Committees for Privileges, etc. shall meet every Monday, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Painted Chamber.

Forging E. of Huntingdon's Protections.

Upon the Reading of the Petition of George Gardner, Prisoner in The Fleet, for selling of divers counterfeited Protections in the Name of the Earl of Huntingdon; it is Ordered, That he shall have a Warrant to bring in his Witnesses, to prove that he the said Gardner did buy the said counterfeited Protections of one Tymothy Castleton.
