Making Arms serviceable.
The Lord Steward reported the Bill for making the Arms of this Kingdom more serviceable in Time to come, fit to pass, with divers Amendments and one Proviso.
The said Amendments and Proviso were read 1a vice.
Lady Purbeck's Privilege.
Thomas West was this Day brought to the Bar, for his Contempt of the Privileges of this House, in causing the Lady Purbecke to be arrested, at his Suit, during this Parliament, which being proved by Testimony upon Oath, he was committed to The Fleet, during the Pleasure of the House. So was Thomas Scory, for prosecuting an Attachment against the Goods of the said Lady; and Robert Maddox and George Gillett, for attaching the Coach-horses of the said Lady, at the Suit of the said Thomas Scory, this Parliament Time; for which their Contempt they were all Three committed to The Fleet, during the Pleasure of the House.
And Thomas West was commanded to name the Serjeants at Mace who arrested the Lady Purbeck; and he named Joseph Cunningham and Thomas Mosse, who are Ordered to be brought hither, to answer the said Contempt.
Lord Abergavenny's and Sir Thomas Nevill's Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Assurance of a Jointure to Dame Frances, Wife of Sir Thomas Nevill, Knight, Son and Heir Apparent of Sir Henry Nevill, Knight, Lord Abergavenny; and to enable the same Lord and Sir Thomas to sell certain Lands, for Payment of their Debts, and Preferment of their younger Children.
