Balcanquall qualifies for Naturalization.

DOCTOR Ballcanquall (who hath exhibited his Bill of Naturalization) took the Oath of Supremacy and Allegiance, according to the Statute; and their Lordships were satisfied that he had received the Communion also accordingly.

Preservation of the King's Revenue.

Best's Naturalization.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Naturalizing of Jacques de Best.

Anstruther's, &c. Naturalization.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Naturalizing of Sir William Anstrouther, Knight, Balcanquall, Doctor of Divinity, and Patrick Abercromy; and ordered to be ingrossed.

Message to the Commons, for Conference touching the breach of the Treaties.

Message to the Commons, by Mr. Baron Denham and Sir Edward Salter: That whereas their Lordships are desirous to continue the good Correspondency that hath been between the Two Houses this Parliament, they are willing to have a Meeting presently, in the Painted Chamber (if their Occasions will permit them), with their former Committee, to clear some Doubts that may arise concerning the Breach of the Treaties.

Answer.

Answered: The Commons embrace this Motion, and will attend presently, in the Painted Chamber, with their former Committee.

Dangerous Situation of Ireland.

The Duke of Buckingham acquainted the House with a Letter written from the Lord Deputy of Ireland unto the Lord Chichester, concerning the Weakness and imminent Danger of that Kingdom.

And with Intelligence from Mr. Trumball, the King's Agent at Bruxells, concerning the Vaunt and Threats of the Adversary.

His Grace also opened unto their Lordships the Danger of a War in Ireland; and that the same may be prevented by a War of Diversion in the Enemies Country.

Dissolving the Treaties with Spain.

And that the Counsel given His Majesty to break off the Treaties will prove most dangerous, if His Majesty be not supplied with Means to undertake a War.

And the Lords Agreed, That the Commons be acquainted with these; and that the King's Majesty hath already sent a Dispatch into Spaine (according to His Majesty's former Intimation), for the Dissolution of the Two Treaties.

The Names of the Lords Committees (appointed 12° Martii) were read; and then their Lordships went into the Painted Chamber to the Conference, where the Committees of the Commons attended.

(fn. 1) Memorandum, The House was moved by the Prince his Highness, not to sit on Monday next, for that the Duke of Richmond's Funerals are to be performed that Day.
