THE Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas and Mr. Justice Jones are added to the Attendants on the Committee for the Bill of Grace for Wales.

The Lord Grey hath Leave to be absent.

The Lord Bishop of Hereford hath Leave to be absent, and made his Proxy to the Lord Bishop of St. Davids.

Waterhouse (Morley's Counsellor) at the Bar.

This Day David Waterhowse was brought to the Bar, according to the Order of the 22d of this March; and, for that he could not deny but that he penned the first Draught of Morleyes Petition, though (as he affirmed) not with such bitter Words and scandalous Aspersions on the Lord Keeper and the Court of Star Chamber which are therein inserted; and for that at first he did seem to avow his Action therein, though afterwards, seeing his Error, and acknowledging his Fault, protested his hearty Grief for the same, and craved Pardon.

The Prisoner being withdrawn, the Lords did, by a general Vote, Agree, To award, adjudge, and ordain the said David Waterhowse, for this his great Offence:

His Judgement.

"1. To be Prisoner in The Fleet, and debarred Pen, Ink, and Paper, during the Pleasure of the House.

"2. To undergo unto our Sovereign Lord the King the Fine of Five Hundred Pounds.

"3. To make his humble Submission and Acknowledgement of this his Fault here at the Bar, in the Star Chamber, on the first Star Chamber Day the next Term, and to the Lord Keeper."

Alsope, Morley's Printer, at the Bar.

Bernard Alsope, the Printer of Morleyes Petition, being brought to the Bar, confessed, That he printed Five Hundred of them for Fifteen Shillings; and that he did it out of Necessity, to get somewhat, being extreme Poor.

He confessed also, that he printed a Petition for Sir Anthony Thomas.

Being withdrawn;

The Lords did first Order (by general Consent), That all Fees for the said Bernard Alsop's Imprisonment, and for his Attachment by the Serjeant, shall be hereafter paid unto the Officers out of Morleyes Fine; and that, in the mean Time, the said Bernard Alsop shall pay no Fees.

Then their Lordships, by a general Vote of the House, did agree to award, adjudge, and ordain, the said Bernard Alsop, for this his Fault:

His Judgement.

"1. To be imprisoned in The Fleet, during the Pleasure of the House.

"2. To be admonished not to print any more Petitions, and to be severely punished if he doth.

"3. To make an humble Submission and Acknowledgement of his Fault here at the Bar, and in the Star Chamber the First Day of the next Term, and to the Lord Keeper."

Their Sentences pronounced.

And their Lordships having put on their Robes, the said Morley kneeling at the Bar, the Lord Keeper pronounced the Sentence agreed on against him.

In like Manner his Lordship pronounced the Sentence against David Waterhowse, and the Sentence against Bernard Alsop also.

Earl of Oxford's Bill.

The Lords Committees on the Bill concerning the Earl of Oxon are to meet the Second Day after the Access to Parliament after Easter.

Adjourn.
