Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling Sir Charles Gresham Baronet to raise the Sum of Five Thousand Pounds, and Interest, and Maintenance for Elizabeth the Daughter of his Brother Sir Edward Gresham Baronet, deceased; and to make Provision for his Younger Children."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Hiccocks and Mr. Lovybond:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Brownlowe's Bill:

The Earl of Scarsdale reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming Articles, and vesting the Manor of Kirby Underwood, in the County of Lincoln, and other Manors, Lands, and Hereditaments, thereby agreed to be sold, in Trustees, for discharging the Debts of Sir John Brownlowe Baronet, deceased, and his Daughters Portions, and other Purposes in the said Articles mentioned," was committed: "That they had considered thereof; and the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable William Harvey the Elder, Esquire, and William Harvey Esquire his Son, to settle a Jointure, and grant a Lease; and for vesting the Inheritance, after a Term of Five Hundred Years, of Lands in Suffolk, in Trustees, to be sold, for raising Portions for his Daughters;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, with One Amendment, to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Then the said Amendment was read, and agreed to.

Message to them, that the Lords have agreed to it.

And a Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Hiccocks and Mr. Lovybond, to acquaint them therewith.

Commissioners for Trade, Minutes delivered.

The Lord Guilford, from the Commissioners of Trade and Plantations, laid before the House, pursuant to the Order of Tuesday last, Copies of the Minutes of all the Proceedings of the Commissioners of Trade and Plantations, from the 9th of May 1712 to the 24th of July following, inclusive.

And the Title thereof was read.

Accounts of Exports and Imports delivered.

Then the House being informed, "That some of the Commissioners of the Customs attended," they were called in; and delivered, at the Bar, pursuant to former Orders of this House, several Papers, intituled as follows:

1. "Return of the Commissioners of the Customs to an Order of the Right Honourable the House of Lords."

2. "Answer of the Patent Officers relating to the Accounts of Imports, from Michaelmas 1662 to Michaelmas 1663, from Ditto 1665 to Ditto 1666, and from Ditto 1685 to Ditto 1686, which last only could be done."

3. "Answer of the Surveyor of the Out Ports about the Accounts of Exports and Imports, from Michaelmas 1662 to Michaelmas 1663, from Ditto 1665 to Ditto 1666, and from Ditto 1685 to Ditto 1686, which last only could be done."

4. "Answer of the Searchers relating to the Account of Exports; and that only the Account from Michaelmas 1685 to Michaelmas 1686 could be done."

5. "Foreign subsidiary and free Goods, exported from the Port of London to France, from Michaelmas 1685 to Michaelmas 1686."

6. "Foreign subsidiary and free Goods, exported from the Port of London, to Hambro, Holland, Portugal, and Italy, from Michaelmas 1685 to Miehaelmas 1686."

7. "An Account of Goods exported from all the Out Ports of England, except Deale, Dartmouth, Whitby, and Milford, from Michaelmas Quarter 1686, to France, Holland, Hamborough, Portugal, and Italy, from Michaelmas 1685 to Michaelmas 1686; wherein the Quantities to each Country are distinguished."

8. "An Account of Goods imported into the Port of London, from France, from Michaelmas 1685 to Michaelmas 1686."

9. "An Account of Goods imported into the Port of London, from Holland, Hamburgh, Portugal, and Italy, from Michaelmas 1685 to Michaelmas 1686; wherein the Quantities from each Country are distinguished."

10. "An Account of Goods imported into all the Out Ports of England, except Deale, Dartmouth, Whitby, and Milford, per Michaelmas Quarter 1686; from France, Holland, Hamborough, Portugal, and Italy, from Michaelmas 1685 to Michaelmas 1686; wherein the Quantities from each Country are distinguished."

And then they withdrew.

And the said Titles were read.

Excommunication too frequent, to prevent, Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for the House to be in a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the too frequent Denunciation of Excommunication, in the Exercise of Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee thereupon, on Wednesday next.

Petitions relating to the Treaty of Commerce with France.

A Representation and Petition of the Bailiffs, Wardens, Assistants, and Commonalty, of the Trade, Art, and Mystery of Weavers, London, on Behalf of themselves and Trade:

Also, a Petition of the Mayor, Aldermen, Bay makers, Perpetuana-makers, and other Inhabitants, of the Town of Colchester, in the County of Essex:

Also, a Petition of the Clothiers concerned in the Woollen Manufacture:

Also, a Petition of the Dyers, Clothworkers, Packers, Calenders, Setters, and others concerned in the Woollen Manufactures, in Behalf of themselves and many Thousand others living in and about the City of London:

Also, a Petition of the Mayor, Aldermen, Saymakers, and Bay-makers, of the Borough of Sudbury, in the County of Suffolk, in Behalf of themselves and many Thousands more employed in the said Manufacture:

And also, a Petition of the Say-makers, and others concerned in the Woollen Manufacture, in the Towns of Clare, Cavendish, and Parts adjacent, in the County of Suffolk, in Behalf of themselves and many Thousands employed in the said Manufactures:

Were severally presented to the House, and read; relating to the Trade and Manufactures of this Kingdom, with respect to the Treaty of Navigation and Commerce between Great Britain and France.

And the said Petitions were severally ordered to lie on the Table.

Turky Merchants heard.

Then the Merchants trading into The Levant Seas were (according to Order) called in; and heard upon the Matters contained in their Petition to this House on the Second Instant.

And withdrew.

Trade between England and France, to be considered.

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That on Tuesday next, at Twelve a Clock, this House will take into Consideration how the Trade between England and France stood at the Time of the Revolution in the Year 1688; how it stood at the making of the Peace at Ryswick, and from thence to the Declaration of the late War; and how it will stand by the Treaty now made, if the same should take Place.

Sir John Holland's Bill.

After reading, and considering, the Report of the Judges, to whom was referred the Bill relating to the Estate of Sir John Holland, in the County of Norfolk:

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for discharging the Manors and Lordships of Bexwell and Tinworth, in the County of Norfolk, from the several Uses, Trusts, and Estates thereof, limited in and by the Marriage Settlement of Sir John Holland Baronet with the Lady Rebecca his Wife; and for settling divers other Manors, Messages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, of a greater Value, and which lie more convenient, in the same County, in Lieu thereof."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)
