E. Torrington versus Sir John Shaw, Privilege.
The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Lords Committees for Privileges, to whom was referred the Petition of the Earl of Torrington; complaining of a Breach of Privilege; as also the Petition of Sir John Shaw, in relation to the said Complaint: "That their Lordships, having met, were acquainted by Sir John Shaw's Counsel, that some of his material Witnesses came not to Town till Saturday Night last; by reason whereof, they could not be sworn; and desiring Time for that Purpose:"
It is therefore Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Committee do meet To-morrow Morning, to take into Consideration the Matters to them referred, touching the said Complaint.
Regius Professors, &c. in the Universities, Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming and rendering more effectual certain Letters Patents of King James the First, for annexing a Canonry and several Rectories to the Regius Professor of Divinity, in the University of Oxford, and to the Regius Professor and Lady Margaret's Reader of Divinity, in the University of Cambridge."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Justinian Isham and others:
With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling James Griffin Esquire, and Edward Griffin, Son and Heir Apparent of the said James Griffin, to raise Money, to pay the Debts of the said James; and to make a Settlement, for the Benefit of themselves and their Family;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The Lord Treasurer acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty is pleased to quit the Interest She has in the Estate mentioned in the said Bill; and consents to the passing thereof."

Wife's Petition concerning the Judgement in the Cause Calthorpe versus May.
Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Wise a Minor, Son and Heir of Francis Wise, late of Waterford, in the Kingdom of Ireland, Esquire, deceased, by his Guardian Richard Dalton Gentleman, presented to this House the Fifteenth of February last, relating to a Judgement of this House, of the 5th of December 1707, in a Cause wherein Reynolds Calthorpe Esquire and Samuel Batteley Gentleman were Appellants, and Charles May Esquire and others Respondents:
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords following be appointed a Committee, to consider of the said Petition, and to inspect the Proceedings in this Case; and report to the House; (videlicet),
Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow, at Ten a Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.
River Avon navigable, Bill:
The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for making the River Avon, in the Counties of Somerset and Gloucester, navigable, from the City of Bath, to or near Hanham Mills."

The House was also adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors, by obliging their Creditors to accept the utmost Satisfaction they are capable to make, and restoring them to their Liberty."
And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.
And the Earl of Winchilsea reported from the Committee, "That they had gone through the said Bill, and made several Amendments thereunto, which he would be ready to report, when their Lordships should please to receive the same."
Ordered, That the Report be received on Monday Sevennight, at Twelve a Clock.
West Horndon and Ingrave Churches, uniting, Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for uniting and consolidating the Churches of West Horndon, alias Thorndon, and Ingrave, alias Gingrave, in the County of Essex."
Gomeldon's Bill.
The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Lords Committees, to whom was referred the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Manors of North Court and Boynton, in the Parish of Swingfield, in the County of Kent, Part of the Estate of Richard Gomeldon Esquire, for discharging Incumbrances: That they had considered the same, and made several Amendments thereunto."
Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.
