Egerton's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Manors of Agardsley, alias Agersley, and Marchington, and several Lands and Hereditaments, in the County of Stafford, for Payment of the Mortgage-monies charged thereon, and other the Debts of the Honourable Charles Egerton Esquire."

And Mr. Baron Price and Mr. Justice Dormer (who signed the said Bill) attending, according to Order, were heard in relation thereunto; as were also Mr. Justice Powell and Mr. Baron Bury.

The House was (according to Order) adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to continue the Act of the last Session of Parliament, for taking, examining, and stating, the Public Accompts of the Kingdom, for One Year longer."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl Ferrers reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Rogers and Mr. Hiccocks:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for securing the Freedom of Parliaments, by limiting the Number of Officers in the House of Commons."

Then, it being proposed, "To commit the Bill;"

And Debate thereupon:

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Then, it being proposed, "That the House should be put into a Committee thereupon, To-morrow, at One a Clock:"

The Question was put, "Whether this House shall be put into a Committee, to take the said Bill into Consideration, To-morrow, at One a Clock?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Guilford reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill, and made several Amendments thereunto."

Which were read, as follows; (videlicet,)

"In the Bill, 8 and 9 L. Leave out ["Dissolution or Determination of this present Parliament"]; and insert ["Demise of Her present Majesty, whom God long preserve"].

"17 L. Leave out from the Word ["gesserint"] to ["King"] in the 21 L.

"22 L. Leave out ["Attorney General, Solicitor General"].

"23 L. Leave out from ["Five"] to ["Lieutenant"] in the 30 L.

"30 L. Leave out from ["Ordnance"] to ["and"] in the 35 L.

"37 L. Leave out from the Word ["preferred"] to the End of the Bill."

Then, the First Amendment being read a Second Time, it was proposed, "To agree with the Committee therein:"

And Debate thereupon;

The Question was put, "Whether to agree with the Committee in this Amendment?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then the other Amendments were read, and severally agreed to by the House.
