This Day William Lord Viscount Hatton sat first in Parliament, upon the Death of his Father Christopher Lord Viscount Hatton; and took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Ld. Barnard takes the Oaths.

Christopher Lord Barnard also took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Ld. Boyle introduced.

Charles Earl of Orrery, of the Kingdom of Ireland, being, by Letters Patents, dated Quinto Die Septembris, Decimo Annæ Reginæ, created Baron Boyle of Marston, in the County of Somerset, was (this Day) in his Robes, introduced, between the Lord Berkeley of Stratton and the Lord Weston (also in their Robes); the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, and One of the Heralds, in the Absence of Garter King at Arms, carrying his Lordship's Patent, preceding.

His Lordship presented the same to the Lord Keeper, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who gave them to the Clerk; which were read, at the Table.

His Writ of Summons was also read, as follows; (videlicet,)

Also Robert Lord Ferrers being, by Letters Patents, dated Tertio Die Septembris, Decimo Annæ Reginæ, created Viscount Tamworth and Earl Ferrers, was, this Day, in his Robes, introduced, between the Lord Treasurer and the Earl of Scarsdale (also in their Robes); the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, and One of the Heralds, in the Absence of Garter King at Arms, carrying his Lordship's Patent, preceding.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

The House was adjourned during Pleasure.

The House was resumed.

Then the Lords Commissioners, being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; with the Lord Treasurer and Lord Chamberlain on his Right Hand; and the Lord Privy Seal on his Left; commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "That the Commissioners desire them to come, and hear the Commission read."

Who being come, with their Speaker, the Commission was read, as follows;
