L. Harcourt, Lord Keeper, introduced:
The Lord President signified to the House, "That Her Majesty had been pleased to create Sir Simon Harcourt, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of Great Britain, a Peer of this Realm."
Whereupon,
His Lordship, taking in his Hand the Purse with the Great Seal, retired to the lower End of the House; and, having there put on his Robes, was introduced, between the Lord Delawar and the Lord Fitzwalter (also in their Robes); the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, and Garter King at Arms in his Coat of Arms, carrying his Lordship's Patent (which he delivered to him at the Steps before the Throne), preceeding.
His Lordship laid down his Letters Patents upon the Chair of State, kneeling; and from thence took and delivered them to the Clerk; who read the same at the Table; which bear Date Tertio Die Septembris, Decimo Annæ Reginæ.
His Writ of Summons was also read, as follows; (videlicet,)

Then his Lordship took his Place on the lower End of the Barons Bench; from whence he went to the upper End of the Earls Bench, and fat there as Lord Keeper: And, having at the Table taken the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also taken and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes, he returned to the Woolsack.
E. of Dartmouth introduced:
Also, William Lord Dartmouth, being, by Letters Patents, bearing Date 5to Die Septembris, Decimo Annæ Reginæ, created Viscount Lewisham and Earl of Dartmouth, was, in his Robes, introduced, between the Lord Treasurer and the Earl of Clarendon (also in their Robes); the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod and Garter King at Arms carrying his Lordship's Patent (which he delivered to him at the Woolsack) preceding.
His Lordship presented his Letters Patents to the Lord Keeper, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who gave them to the Clerk; and the same was read at the Table.

Then his Lordship took his Place on the Earls Bench; and came to the Table, and took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.
The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further Prorogation of the Parliament."
Then the Lords Commissioners, being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; and the Lord Treasurer and Lord Privy Seal on his Right Hand; and the Lord President and Earl of Dartmouth on his Left; commanded the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "That the Commissioners desire them to come, and hear the said Commission read."
