Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing the former Acts for the Encouragement of the Coinage; and to encourage the bringing Foreign Coins, and British or Forign Plate to be coined; and for making Provision for the Mints in Scotland; and for the prosecuting Offences concerning the Coin in England."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock.

Mackenzie versus Sir Alexander Brand.

The House having this Day heard Counsel, upon the Petition of Mr. George Mackenzie, Son to George Mackenzie, Grantee from Her Majesty, in a Decree of Exchequer of North Britain, pronounced against Sir Alexander Brand, relating to his Appeal in this House; as also Counsel on the Petition of Sir Alexander Brand:

The following Order was made; (videlicet,)

"It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That, after an Appeal shall be received by this House, from any Sentence or Decree given or pronounced in any Court in Scotland, and an Order made by this House for the Respondent to answer the said Appeal, and Notice of such Order duly served on the Respondent; the Sentence or Decree so appealed against, from such Time, ought not to be carried on into Execution by any Process whatsoever."

Several Duties to continue, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing several Impositions and Duties, to raise Money by Way of Loan; and for exporting British Copper and Brass Wire, Duty free; and for circula ting a further Sum in Exchequer Bills, in case a new Contract be made in that Behalf; and concerning the Oaths to be administered in relation to Italian Thrown Silks; and touching Oils and Plantation Goods of Foreigners taken, or to be taken, as Prize; and concerning Drugs of America to be imported from Her Majesty's Plantations; and for appropriating the Monies given in this Session of Parliament; and for making out Debentures for Two Transport Ships, in this Act named; and to allow a further Time for registering certain Debentures; and for Relief of Persons who have lost such Tickets, Exchequer Bills, Debentures, Tallies, or Orders, as in this Act are mentioned."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock.

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the public registering of Deeds, Conveyances, and Wills, and other Incumbrances, which shall be made of, or that may affect, any Honours, Manors, Lands, Tenements, or Hereditaments, within the County of Midd'x, after the Twenty-ninth Day of September One Thousand Seven Hundred and Nine;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, with some Amendments, whereunto they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Which Amendments were read Thrice, and agreed to; and Ordered, That the Commons have Notice thereof.

Message from H. C. with Hastings's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Onslow and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Equity of Redemption of the Manor of Backwell, in the County of Somerset, in Trustees, to be sold, pursuant to the Will of Caroletta Nettles, deceased, and a Decree in Chancery;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.
