Anth. Stafford's Bill.

The Lord Guilford reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Anthony Stafford Gentleman to sell or mortgage some Part of his Lands and Hereditaments, in the Counties of Derby and Chester, for the Payment of his Father's Debts and his own; and the better settling and securing the rest for the Benefit of his Wife and Family," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Hedges versus Hedges:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Dame Anne Hedges, the Widow and Executrix of Sir William Hedges, late Knight and Alderman of London, deceased, and of John Hedges and Charles Hedges, Sons of the said Sir William Hedges, Infants, by the said Dame Anne Hedges their Mother and Guardian, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Twenty-sixth Day of November One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eight, on the Behalf of William Hedges and Robert Hedges, Sons of the said Sir William Hedges by a former Wife; and praying, "That the said Decree may be reversed:" As also upon the Answer of William Hedges Esquire and Robert Hedges Gentleman put in thereunto:

Judgement reversed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Decree, complained of in the Petition and Appeal of Dame Anne Hedges and John and Charles Hedges, shall be, and is hereby, reversed; and that the Appellants shall have the Three Thousand Pounds, and their full Share of the Orphanage Part, without bringing the said Three Thousand Pounds into the Orphanage Part in Hotch-pot.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for making perpetual an Act for the better preventing the counterfeiting the current Coin of this Kingdom; as also an Act for giving like Remedy upon Promissory Notes as is used upon Bills of Exchange, and for the better Payment of Inland Bills of Exchange; and also for continuing several Acts made in the Fourth and Fifth Year of Her Majesty's Reign, for preventing Frauds committed by Bankrupts;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Dolben and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Relief of the Earl of Clanriccard (lately called Lord Bophin) of the Kingdom of Ireland, in relation to his Estate; and for the more effectual selling or setting the Estate of the said Earl to Protestants;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Anth. Stafford's Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Anthony Stafford Gentleman to sell or mortgage some Part of his Lands and Hereditaments, in the Counties of Derby and Chester, for the Payment of his Father's Debts and his own; and the better settling and securing the rest, for the Benefit of his Wife and Family."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
