Bishops take the Oaths.

This Day Offspring Lord Bishop of Exeter, William Lord Bishop of Chester, and Charles Lord Bishop of Norwich, took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, and the Oath of Abjuration, and also made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Cheeke's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to vest the Estate late of Edward Cheeke Esquire, deceased, in Somersetshire, remaining unsold at his Death, in Trustees, to be sold, to satisfy the Demands of the Lady Russel his Mother, and Essex Cheeke his Sister; and to vest the Remainder of the Monies arising by Sale of the said Estate in the Purchase of other Lands, to be settled on Edward Cheeke, an Insant, and his Heirs."

Watchet Harbour Bill.

The Lord Viscount Weymouth reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Harbour and Key of Watchett, in the County of Somersett," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Ambuscade, a free Ship, Bill.

The Earl of Warrington reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled. "An Act to make the Ship Ambuscade (a French Privateer, taken by Her Majesty's Ship The Dover, and condemned and sold as Prize) a free Ship," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Message from H.C. with a Bill.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Richard Onslow and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for rendering more effectual the Act made in the First Year of Her Majesty's Reign, for the finishing and adorning the Cathedral Church of St. Paul's, London; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Spanish Merchants versus Cochineal Importation Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing of the Spanish Merchants, in Behalf of themselves and others, Traders for Spain, by themselves or Counsel, what they have to offer against the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Importation of Cochineal during the War, and for Six Months after:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners shall be heard on Thursday next, at Eleven a Clock, before the Second reading of the said Bill.

Warner et al. versus Hawes et al.;

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Anne Warner Widow, Anne Warner Spinster, Elizabeth Warner, Mary Warner, and Edmund Warner, Four Children of the said Anne Warner Widow, and Grandchildren of Nathaniel Hawes deceased, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Seventh of February One Thousand Seven Hundred and Four, on the Behalf of Thomas and Anne Hawes, and Elizabeth Hawes Widow, and Elizabeth Hawes Spinster; and praying, That the said Decree may be rectified and altered, as to the Point of the Mortgage-debt and Interest, mentioned in the Petition, being charged upon the Personal Estate; and that the Legatees may bear their own Burthen, or at least the Proportions of the Deficiency:" As also upon the several Answers of Thomas Hawes, Anne Hawes, Elizabeth Hawes Widow, and of Anne Prideaux Widow, Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Edmund Prideaux deceased, Andrew Stace, and Nathaniel Hawes, put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Anne Warner Widow, Anne Warner Spinster, Elizabeth Warner, Mary Warner, and Edmund Warner, shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.

Queen's Answer to Address about the Navy, and Losses for Want of Cruizers, &c.

The Lord Chancellor reported Her Majesty's Gracious Answer to the Address of this House, presented to Her Majesty Yesterday, as follows:

"My Lords,

"I will take Care to make the most useful Observations on the several Particulars contained and referred to in your Address.

"It was always My Opinion, that the Encouragement of Trade and Seamen, and the good Management of the Navy, are of the greatest Importance to the Prosperity of this Kingdom.

"And therefore, you may be assured, I will use My utmost Endeavours, to encourage all those, whose Duty it is, effectually to perform those Services."

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Address of this House, presented to Her Majesty Yesterday, together with the several Papers contained and referred to in the said Address, and Her Majesty's most Gracious Answer thereunto, shall be forthwith printed and published.

The Duke of Somerset reported from the Lords Committees appointed to examine William Greg and Alexander Clerk, alias Valiere, the several Examinations taken by the said Committee, relating to that Matter.

Hereupon it is Ordered, That the Lords following shall be, and are hereby, appointed to take into their Consideration the several Examinations, Letters, and Papers, this Day reported; and are to reduce into Method so much of the said Examinations, Letters, and Papers, as they shall judge most necessary for the Public Service; and have Power to send for and examine such Persons thereupon as they shall think fit; and report to the House as often as they please; (videlicet,)
