E. of Scarsdale takes his Seat.

This Day Nicholas Earl of Scarsdale sat first in Parliament, upon the Death of his Uncle Robert Earl of Scarsdale; and took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, and the Oath of Abjuration, and also made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Clerke's Nat. Bill.

The Earl of Leicester reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Katherine Clerke, Daughter of Sir William Clerke Baronet, deceased," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Katherine Clerke, Daughter of Sir W'm Clerke Baronet, deceased."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, The Commons have Notice, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Commodore Kerr's Ansswer to the Informations against him, delivered:

This Day Captain Wm. Kerr, at the Bar, delivered in his Answer to the Informations against him; and also Mr. Wood, at the Bar, delivered Six Papers, relating to Captain Kerr.

Kerr and Wood to attend.

Ordered, That Captain Wm. Kerr and Mr. Wood do attend this House To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock.

Watkins versus Price:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of John Watkins Esquire, from a Decree of the Court of Exchequer, of the Thirtieth of June One Thousand Seven Hundred and Three, and the Reports, Orders, and Proceedings, pursuant thereto, and a Decree of the Nineteenth of June One Thousand Seven Hundred and Six, and the subsequent Orders thereupon, on the Behalf of John Price Esquire; and praying, "That the same may be set aside and reversed; and that the final Decree be opened, and the Petitioner relieved in the Premises;" as also upon the Answer of the said John Price put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of John Watkins shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decrees, Reports, Orders, and Proceedings, of the Court of Exchequer, therein complained of, shall be, and they are hereby, affirmed: And it is further Ordered, That the said John Watkins shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the said John Price, the Sum of Ten Pounds, for his Costs.

Address for Papers and Accompts relative to Trade.

The Lord Halifax (pursuant to Order) reported from the Lords Committees, an Address drawn by them.

Which was read, and agreed to, and is as follows; (videlicet,)

"We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, having appointed a Committee, to examine a State or Representation of the Trade of this Kingdom, received from the Commissioners for Trade and Plantations; do find, that it will be necessary, for the Service of the House, in their Inquiry into these Matters, highly importing the Good of the Trade of this Kingdom, and the Safety of the Plantations, that some other Accounts and Papers should be laid before them; and do therefore most humbly beseech Your Majesty, that You would be pleased to direct, that they may be informed what Estimate hath been made of the fortifying Crook-haven, in Ireland; and what Application hath been made to the Court of Vienna, for taking off the Prohibition that hath been laid on our Woollen Manufacture in Austria, and for the Relief of the Merchants trading to Geneva; and likewise what has been done, for redressing the Violence offered to Mr. Fisher and other Merchants by the Officers of the Prince of Anbault Dessau; and also whether the Four and an Half per Cent. has been applied in Barbados, in the making Fortifications there, and the establishing and maintaining a Regiment, pursuant to the Representation of the said Commissioners for Trade of the Fourteenth of January last; and whether any Thing has been done, on a Proposition of Colonel Dudley's, for destroying Quebeck and Port Royal, communicated to Mr. Secretary Hedges by the Commissioners of Trade on the Second of March One Thousand Seven Hundred and Four."

Ordered, That the Lords with White Staves do attend Her Majesty, with the Address of this House agreed to this Day.
