Lady Rich's Charities, Bill.

After reading, and Consideration of, the Report made by Mr. Justice Gould and Mr. Baron Bury, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees certain Messuages and Lands of Inheritance, in the County of Berks, of the Value of Two Thousand Pounds, for such Charitable Uses as are mentioned in and by the last Will and Testament of Dame Elizabeth Rich Widow, deceased; and for discharging other Lands, in the County of Worcester, of and from the same:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill be read a Second Time.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for rectifying a Mistake, and for supplying the Defects, in an Act of the Third Year of Her Majesty's Reign, for Sale of the Estate late of Edward Baines, for discharging of his Mortgage thereupon, and for making Provision for his Daughters;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Bainton and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the enlarging the Passage leading to New Palace Yard, through The Gatehouse, Westminster; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Maule's and Aldworth's Bill.

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for empowering the Barons of the Court of Exchequer in Ireland to grant a Commission, to administer to Thomas Maule, Remembrancer of that Court, the Oaths of Office; and to enable him to take the Oaths, and subscribe the Declaration, in Engl'd, instead of those to be taken and subscribed by the Laws of England and Ireland, to qualify him to execute the said Office," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Bentley et al. attached.

The House being informed, upon Oath, "That Mr. Charles Bentley and Robert Meadowcourt did enter into the Possession of the Lord Bishop of Worcester, and carried off his Timber, within the Time of Privilege of Parliament, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, his Deputy or Deputies, do forthwith attach the Bodies of the said Charles Bently and Robert Meddowcourt, and keep them in safe Custody, until furtheir Order of this House; and this Bill shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir David Mitchell, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, his Deputy or Deputies, and every of them.

Jermyn's Divorce Bill;

The House (pursuant to Order) was adjourned during Pleature, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for dissolving the Marriage of Stephen Jermyn, now the only Son of Stephen Jermyn, of London, Merchant, with Sarah Bell; and to enable him to marry again."

And after hearing Counsel and Witnesses for and against the said Bill, upon the Petition of Sarah Jermyn; after some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee of the whole House had gone through the said Bill; and were of Opinion, That the same is not fit to pass."

Then the Question was put, "Whether this House will agree with the Committee in this Report?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Rejected.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for dissolving the Marriage of Stephen Jermyn, now the only Son of Stephen Jermyn, of London, Merchant, with Sarah Bell, and to enable him to marry again," shall be, and is hereby, rejected.

Pelly versus Madden.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for hearing of the Cause wherein Hyacinth Pelly is Appellant, and Hugh Madden Respondent:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Saturday the First Day of March next, at Eleven a Clock; and that the Causes be removed in Course.

West Riding York, Register Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for the House to be in a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Enrolments of Bargaine and Sales within the West Riding of the County of York in the Register-office there lately provided; and for making the said Register more effectual:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee upon the said Bill, on Wednesday the Fifth Day of March next, at Twelve a Clock; and that the Judges do then attend.

Charlton's Report delivered.

The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Mr. Justice Tracy and Mr. Baron Price were ready to make their Report to this House, in relation to the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate of Gilbert Charlton Esquire, deceased; and for purchasing other Estate or Estates, in the Counties of Nottingham, Leicester, or Lincolne, to the settled to the Uses as the Estate in the County of Montgomery was settled," referred to them, when the House will please to receive the same."

Which said Report being delivered; it was agreed, and Ordered, That the same shall be read and considered on Thursday next.

Canham's Bill.

After reading, and Consideration of, the Report made by Mr. Baron Smith and Mr. Justice Dormer, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for supplying the Defect of an Appointment for the Provision of the Younger Children of John Canham Esquire, deceased; pursuant to his Marriage Settlement; and for settling an Estate in Totteridge, in Lieu of Thirteen Hundred Pounds, the Remainder of a Sum of Money agreed to be laid out in a Purchase:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill may be read a Second Time.
