The House being informed, "That the Committee, appointed to consider of the Petition of George Hitchcock and others, against Sarah Sedgwick and others, are ready to make their Report to the House:"
It is Ordered, That the said Report shall be made To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock.
Lewes versus Fielding & al.
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Thomas Lewes Gentleman, from a Decree of the Court of Chancery, the Seven and Twentieth Day of April in the Second Year of the Reign of Her present Majesty, by the Master of the Rolls, in the Absence of the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, in a Cause there depending, between Israel Fielding Esquire, John Fairer, Thomas Wilkinson, and William Blincorne, Complainants, and the Petitioner Thomas Lewes and others Defendants: As also upon the Answer of Israel Fielding, Thomas Wilkinson, and John Fairer, put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:
Judgement affirmed.
It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Thomas Lewes shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed.
Duke of Marlborough, 5000£. per Ann. Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for settling upon John Duke of Marlborough and his Posterity a Pension of Five Thousand Pounds per Annum, for the more honourable Support of their Dignities, in like Manner as his Honours and Dignities, and the Honour and Manor of Woodstock, and House of Bleinbeim, are already limited and settled."
Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Third Time To-morrow.
Story versus Wilson.
Upon reading the Petition of George (fn. 1) Warter Story Dean of Lymrick and Katherine his Wife, Respondents to the Appeal of Ralph Wilson Gentleman and Margaret his Wife; shewing, "That they have put in their Answer to the said Appeal near a Month since, and are ready to make their Defence; and the Appellants not having moved this House for a Day of Hearing, whereby the Petitioners are delayed; and praying a short Day may be appointed for hearing the said Appeal:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Nine and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Eleven a Clock.
Sheriffs Accompts, Bill.
Whereas this Day was appointed, for the Second Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better Ease of Sheriffs, in passing their Accompts; and of the Subject, in relation to the Execution of that Office:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Bill shall be read a Second Time on Thursday next, at Eleven a Clock.
