Answer to Address.

MR. Speaker reported to the House, That he did Yesterday present their Address to his Majesty, touching the State of the Kingdom of Ireland: And that his Majesty was graciously pleased to give this Answer; viz.

Gentlemen,

I shall always have great Consideration of what comes from the House of Commons: And I shall take great Care, that what is amiss shall be remedied.

Supply Bill; Poll Tax.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir John Francklyn and Sir John Hoskyns;

Mr. Speaker,

The Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for Review of the quarterly Poll granted to their Majesties in the last Session of this present Parliament, without any Amendments.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Atwood's Estate.

Mr. Hungerford reported from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Abell Atwood to sell some Lands, to pay Debts, and make Provision for younger Children, was committed, That they had examined and considered the same; and that the Parties concerned had consented thereunto; and that the Committee had directed him to report the said Bill to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Table.

Aulnage Duty.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Lords, to put them in mind of the ingrossed Bill, intituled, An Act for transferring the Collection of the Duty of Aulnage to the Custom-house, and for giving the Crown a Recompence for the same.

Ordered, That Mr. Scobell do carry the said Message.

Debtors Relief.

Mr. Arnold reported from the Committee to whom the Consideration of the Petition of the poor Prisoners in the King's Bench was referred, That they had examined and considered the same; and directed him to report specially, to the House the Number of the poor Prisoners in the said Prison for Debt; viz.

That they had an Account, that the poor Prisoners committed,

Indemnity for acting in Defence of the Kingdom.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for preventing Suits against such as acted for their Majesties Service in Defence of the Kingdom, was, according to the Order of the Day, read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And the Title be agreed to.

Ordered, That Mr. How do carry the Bill to the Lords; and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the same, with some Amendments: To which Amendments they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Duchy of Cornwall Leasing.

Mr. Scobell reported to the House, That he having, according to their Order, been with the Lords, to desire a Conference upon the Subject Matter of the Amendments made by the Lords to the ingrossed Bill, intituled, An Act to enable their Majesties to make Grants, Leases, and Copies of Offices, Lands, and Hereditaments, Parcel of their Duchy of Cornwall, or annexed to the same, and for Confirmation of Leases and Grants already made, the Lords do agree to a Conference immediately in the Painted Chamber.

Ordered, That the Committee, who prepared the Reasons for the said Conference, do manage the said Conference.

And the Managers went to the Conference accordingly.

And, being returned:

Sir Joseph Tredenham reported from the said Conference, That the Managers had attended the same; and had given the Lords the Reasons for disagreeing to the Amendments made by their Lordships to the said Bill; and had left the Bill and Amendments with the Lords.

Election Returns.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the Lords, to put them in mind of a Bill, intituled, An Act to prevent false and double Returns of Members to serve in Parliament.

Ordered, That Mr. Boyle do carry the said Message.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Ten a Clock.
