Hertford Roads.

THE House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for reviving a former Law for Repair of the Highways in the County of Hertford.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Colonel Titus reported from the said Committee, That they had made some Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and afterwards a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Private Bills.

Ordered, That no private Bill be proceeded upon before Saturday Morning next.

Lords desire a Conference.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cook and Mr. Keck;

Mr. Speaker, We are commanded by the Lords to acquaint this House, That the Lords do desire a Conference with this House, in the Painted Chamber, this Morning at Twelve a Clock, upon occasion of a Libel that has been lately printed.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Resolved, That this House doth agree to a Conference with the Lords, as their Lordships do desire.

And the Messengers were called in again: And Mr. Speaker acquainted them therewith.

Greenland Trade.

Sir Mathew Andrewes reported from the Committee to whom the Consideration of the Petition of Sir William Scawen, and others, touching the Greenland Trade of Fishing, and also to prepare and bring in a Bill for the Encouraging the said Trade, was referred, That they had prepared a Bill (which they had directed him to present to the House) for the regulating, encouraging, and settling the Greenland Trade. And the same was received.

Trade in Cities, &c.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee to whom the Bill for preventing the Decay of Trade in Cities, Corporations, and Market Towns, be made To-morrow Morning at Eleven a Clock.

Royal Mines.

Ordered, That Mr. Hamilton be heard by his Counsel, touching the Bill for removing Doubts, and preventing Controversies, concerning Royal Mines, To-morrow Morning, Ten a Clock, at the Bar of this House.

Triennial Parliaments.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the frequent Calling and Meeting of Parliaments, be read the First time, upon Friday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock.

Woolen Manufactures.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill for continuing Part of an Act of Parliament, made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, intituled, An Act for the better preventing the Exportation of Wool, and encouraging the Woolen Manufactures of this Kingdom, be read the Third time, To-morrow Morning at Twelve a Clock.

Punishing Mutiny and Desertion.

A Bill for punishing Officers and Soldiers who shall mutiny, or desert their Majesties Service, and for punishing false Musters, and for Settling and Paying of Quarters, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, upon the Debate of the House.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Saturday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cook and Mr. Keck;

Hameldon Manors.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for settling and confirming the Manors and Lands in Hameldon in the County of Rutland, as they are now enjoyed, and have been for divers Years last past, pursuant to an Agreement for Inclosing and Exchanging of Lands there: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Special Bails.

Also the Lords have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act for taking special Bails in the Country, upon Actions and Suits depending in the Courts of King's Bench, Common Pleas, and Exchequer, at Westminster; with an Amendment: To which Amendment they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Edward Acton have Leave to go into the Country for Three Weeks, upon extraordinary Occasions.

Aulnage Duty.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for the transferring the Collection of the Duty of Aulnage to the Custom-house, and giving a Recompence to the Crown for the same, be made To-morrow Morning at Twelve a Clock.

Conference on Libellous Publication.

Then the Managers went to the Conference:

And being returned;

Mr. Boyle reported from the Conference, That they had met the Lords at the Conference, and that the Lord Mulgrave managed the Conference on the behalf of the Lords; and made an Apology for making the Managers stay, for that the Lords were upon an extraordinary Debate; and acquainted them, That, upon occasion of a late Libel, intituled, "King William and Queen Mary Conquerors, &c." (which their Lordships had ordered to be burnt by the Hand of the Common Hangman) the Lords had agreed to a Vote; which their Lordships conceived to be so important, that they thought fit to communicate the same to the House of Commons; viz.

"Die Martis, 24 Januarii, 1692."

"Resolved, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, in Parliament assembled, That the Assertion of King William and Queen Mary's being King and Queen by Conquest, is highly injurious to their Majesties; and inconsistent with the Principles on which this Government is founded; and tending to the Subversion of the Rights of the People."

Which Vote the said Mr. Boyle delivered in at the Table: Where the same was read.

Resolved, nemine contradicente, That the Assertion of King William and Queen Mary's being King and Queen by Conquest, is highly injurious to their Majesties rightful Title to the Crown of this Realm; inconsistent with the Principles on which this Government is founded; and tending to the Subversion of the Rights of the People.

Resolved, That the said Resolution be communicated to the Lords at a Conference.

Resolved, That a Conference be desired with the Lords upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference.

Ordered, That Mr. Boyle do go to the Lords, and desire the said Conference.

London Orphans.

A Petition of the distressed Orphans, of the City of London, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That, by the supreme Power of the said City, to force their Orphans Money into the Chamber of London, many of them are brought to great Misery: That the Lord Mayor and Aldermen, being sensible of the Petitioners Necessities, did, the First of March 1687, order, and inserted in the Gazette, that all Improvements of their Revenues (over and above what was necessary for the Support of their Government) should be applied to their Relief; and that the Discoverers of such Improvements should be rewarded proportionably: That Discoveries have been made; and it is ready to be made manifest to the House, that the City hath enough to pay their Debts, and support their Government also: And praying the House to examine the same; and that, whatever Revenues appear more than absolutely necessary to support their Government, may be applied to the Relief of the Petitioners.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Commonalty of the City of London, touching the Orphans of the said City, was referred.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Saturday Morning next, at Nine a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Commonalty of the City of London.

Resolutions communicated at Conference.

Ways and Means.

Mr. Attorney General, according to the Order of the Day, reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom it was referred to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for the carrying on a vigorous War against France, the Resolutions agreed upon by the said Committee: The which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were read; and are as foll . . .; viz.

1. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That, towards the raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Twenty Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of Amber Beads, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

2. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Amber rough imported, after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

3. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of Amber Oil imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

4. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value upon Anchovies, the little Barrel, not exceeding Sixteen Pounds of Fish, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

5. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Six Shillings the Last, of all Ashes called Wood, Weed, or Soap Ashes, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater of lesser Quantity.

6. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Eight-pence the Piece upon Barbers Aprons, and Cheques, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

7. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Shillings the hundred Weight, containing One hundred and Twelve Pounds, of all Battery, Bashrooms, or Kettles, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

8. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Shillings the Hundred Weight, containing as aforesaid, of all Metal prepared for Battery, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

9. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) ad additional Duty of Four Shillings the Hundred Weight (containing as aforesaid) upon all Books unbound, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

10. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Twenty Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Black called Lamp Black, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

11. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Boultell Raines, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

12. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Two Shillings and Sixpence upon every Gross of Bracelets, or Necklaces of Glass, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

13. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of Brass wrought, imported after the Twenty-fifth of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

14. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Two Shillings and Sixpence per Gallon on all foreign Brandy and Spirits, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

15. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Shillings for every Gallon of Strong Waters, Spirits, or Brandy (above Proof, called double Brandy, over and above the Duties of Excise and Custom payable for the same), imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

16. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Buckrams, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

17. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Buttons of Hair, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

18. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Bristles dressed and undressed, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

19. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid Four-pence the Pound upon all Bacon imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

20. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Calves' Skins, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

21. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That every Piece of Callico, not exceeding a Yard and Quarter in Breadth, shall contain Twelve Yards, and every Piece above that Breadth shall contain Eight Yards, and so for a greater or lesser Quantity thereof respectively.

22. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of Carpets of all Sorts, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

23. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Eighteen-pence for every Gross of Catlings and Lutestrings, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

24. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of Scotch Coals, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

25. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the additional Impost on Coffee, imposed by the Act made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, be reduced to Half the Duty imposed by the said Act, for all Coffee imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December, 1692.

26. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the additional Impost on Chocolate, imposed by the Act made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, be reduced to Twelve-pence the Pound Weight for all Chocolate imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

27. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the additional Impost on Cocoa Nuts, imposed by the Act made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, be reduced to Sixpence the Pound Weight for all Cocoa Nuts, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

28. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid an additional Duty of Twenty-five Shillings the Thousand upon all Walking Canes (over and above all Duties payable for the same) imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

29. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid an additional Duty of Five Shillings the Thousand upon all Canes called Rattans (over and above all Duties payable for the same) imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

30. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Seven Shillings and Sixpence the Hundred Weight, containing One hundred and Twelve Pounds, upon all Copper called Rose Brick, Copper Coin, and all Cast Copper, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

31. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Twelve Shillings and Sixpence the Hundred Weight, containing as aforesaid, upon all Copper part-wrought, as Plates, Bars, Rods, or raised, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

32. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Seventeen Shillings and Sixpence the Hundred Weight, containing as aforesaid, upon all Copper fully wrought, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

33. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Twenty Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Coral Beads, and polished Coral, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

34. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Manufactures of Cotton (except Dimity not brought from the East Indies or China) imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

35. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Cowryes, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

36. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the additional Impost upon Currans and Raisins, imposed by an Act made in the Second Year of their Majesties Reign, be reduced to Half the said additional Impost for all Currans and Raisins, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

37. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Elephants Teeth, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

38. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Seven Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all rough Flax, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

39. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Fifteen Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all dressed Flax, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

40. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Two, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

41. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Two-pence for every Yard of Flannel, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

42. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Three-pence Halfpeny for every . . . of Freez, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

43. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Furs, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

44. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all counterfeit Gold and Silver Thread and Wire, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

45. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Four-pence for every Pound of Goats Hair called Carmenia Wool, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

46. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) Two-pence for every Pound of Goats Hair, of any other Sort, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

47. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value for Hides, of all Sorts, dressed and undressed (except Buff and Losh), imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

48. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Two Shillings for every Buff Hide, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

49. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of One Shilling for every Losh Hide, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

50. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all rough Hemp, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

51. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid a Duty of Twenty Shillings for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Diamonds, Pearls, Rubies, Emeralds, and other Jewels and precious Stones, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692, to be affirmed by the Oath of the Importer, in lieu of all Impositions and Duties payable for the same; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

52. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Four-pence for every Pound of Indigo (not being of the Growth of any of the Dominions or Plantations belonging to the Crown of England) imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

53. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Two-pence for every Pound of Indigo, of the Growth of the Dominions and Plantations belonging to the Crown of England imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

54. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid upon all Iron, Iron Pots, Kettles, Backs for Chimnies, Iron slit or hammered into Rods, Frying Pans, Anvils wrought, single white and black Plates, double white or black Plates, and all other Iron Wares, imported from Ireland after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692, the same respective Duties as are laid on Iron, and Iron Wares imported from any Foreign Parts, by an Act made in the Second Year of their Majesties Reign; the said Duties to be paid during the Continuance of the said Act.

55. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all shaven Latten, black Latten, and round Bottoms, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

56. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Leather, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

57. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Litmus, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

58. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid upon all Lapis Calaminaris, exported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692, Twenty Shillings for every Tan, over and above all other Duties payable for the same; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Madder, imported after the Twenty-fifth of December 1692; and so in proportion of any greater or lesser Quantity.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Orchall, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

61. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Pintadoes, or Callico Cupboard Cloths (not brought from the East Indies or China), imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

62. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid upon all Pitch (not being of the Product of any of the Dominions or Plantations belonging to the Crown of England or Scotland) an additional Duty of One Moiety more than what is charged upon the same, imported after the Twenty-fifth of December 1692.

63. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Plate of Silver, gilt or ungilt, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

64. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Rice, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

65. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Rosin (except French Rosin), not being of the Product of any of the Dominions or Plantations belonging to the Crown of England or Scotland, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

66. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Shillings for every Weigh of Salt, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

67. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of Thrown Silk of all Sorts, in the Gum, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692: and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

68. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book . . . . . . or any other Law) an additional Duty of Two Shillings for every Pound of Silk, wrought, of India, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

69. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid upon all Silk Ferret or Floret, an additional Duty of One Moiety more than what is charged upon the same, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

70. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That all Silks called Alamodes and Lutestrings, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692, do pay the same Duties as if the same were imported from France.

71. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value for all Sorts of Skins, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

72. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid upon all Tar (not being the Product of any of the Dominions or Plantations belonging to the Crown of England or Scotland), imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692, an additional Duty of One Moiety more than what is charged upon the same.

73. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Ticks or Ticking (except Scotch Ticks and Ticking), imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

74. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Four Shillings for every Dozen Pounds of Thread Outnal, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

75. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Ten Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Tapestry or Dornick Hangings (except such as are manufactured in, or brought from, any Part of the French King's Dominions), imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

76. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid upon all Tape and Incle, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692, an additional Duty of One Moiety more than what is charged upon the same.

77. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the additional Impost charged upon Tea (by the Act made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign) be reduced to Twelve-pence the Pound for all Tea, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

78. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Eight Shillings the Thousand of all Pan Tiles, imported after the Twentyfifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

79. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Sorts of Dying-wood, (except Drugs and Logwood), imported after the Twentyfifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

80. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above what is now charged in the Book of Rates) an additional Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value of all Wax called Bees-wax, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

81. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid (above all Duties already charged in the Book of Rates, or otherwise) an additional Duty of Eight Pounds upon every Tun of French Wines, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

82. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be charged upon all French Goods and Merchandize (except Wine and Brandy, and Vinegar) Twenty-five Pounds per Centum, in lieu of all other Duties, which shall be imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity.

83. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid an additional Duty of Six Shillings and Six-pence the Hundred Weight, containing One hundred and Twelve Pounds (above all other Duties chargeable for the same) upon all Latten Brass and Copper Wire, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692; and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantities.

84. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid an additional Duty of three Shillings the Pound (in lieu of all other Duties) upon all Coney Wool, exported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

85. Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That there be laid a Duty of Five Pounds for every Hundred Pounds Value, and so in proportion for any greater or lesser Quantity, upon all other Goods not particularly rated in the Book of Rates, paying Duty at Value, imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of Dec. 1692; to be affirmed upon the Oath of the Importer, according to the Direction of the Book of Rates; except such Goods or Merchandize as are charged by an Act of this present Parliament, intituled, An Act for granting to their Majesties certain Impositions upon all East India Goods and Manufactures, and upon all Wrought Silks, and several other Goods and Merchandize, to be imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1692.

Resolved, That the farther Consideration of the said Report be adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eleven a Clock.
