Trade in Cities, &c.

A Bill to prevent the Decay of Trade in Cities, Corporations, and Market Towns, was read the Second time.

A Petition of the Master, Wardens, and Assistants of the Company of Poulterers, London, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That there are above Five hundred Families of their Trade, in the City of London and Westminster, who pay all Parish Duties, and other Taxes; and are equally useful, with other Traders, in the Support of the Government: But the Petitioners, of late are much undermined by Hawkers, who often furnish themselves with unwholesome Goods, and sell them from House to House, to the Discouragement of the Markets in and about the said Cities, the Ruin of the Petitioners, and the Infecting their Majesties Subjects: That there being a Bill brought into the House, to prevent the Decay of Trade in Corporations and Market Towns, by which many other Traders are like to be freed from the Inconvenience which the Petitioners now lie under, and praying, That they may be inserted in the same Bill, to have equal Relief with other Traders within the said Cities only.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the said Committee.

Popham's Estate.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to enable Alexander Popham, Esquire, a Member of this House, to settle a Jointure upon his Wife, and make Provision for younger Children, upon Receipt of Twelve thousand Pounds Portion, which is to be applied for Payment of his Debts.

Disposition by Will in York.

Sir Christopher Musgrave, according to Order, presented to the House a Bill, That the Inhabitants of the Province of York may dispose of their personal Estates by their Wills, notwithstanding the Custom of that Province. And the same was received; and read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Expiring Laws.

Ordered, That Mr. Godolphin, Sir John Dorrell, Sir John Guise, Sir Walt. Young, Mr. Palmes, Sir Ro. Jenkinson, be added to the Committee who are appointed to inspect what Laws are lately expired and expiring, and what Laws are fit to be revived, and further continued.

Supply.

Then the House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, for the carrying on a vigorous War against France.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Attorney General took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Attorney General reported from the said Committee, That the Committee had agreed upon several Resolutions; which they had directed him to report to the House.

Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow Morning; and nothing to intervene.

Woolen Manufacture.

Ordered, That the Bill for continuing Part of the Act of Parliament made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign, for the better preventing the Exportation of Wool, and encouraging the Woolen Manufactures, be read upon Monday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Ten a Clock.
