Bishop of London's Estate.

MR. Travers reports from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable the Bishop of London, and Trustees, to sell the Manor of Bushly in the County of Worcester, Part of the Bishoprick of London, and to purchase other Lands, to be annexed to the said Bishoprick, for the Improvement thereof, was committed, That they had agreed upon several . . . . . . to be made to the said Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards he delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time; one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and are as followeth; viz.

Selling Lands in Lincolne, &c.

Mr. Clarke reports from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for vesting several Manors, Lands, and Rents, in the Counties of Lincolne, Berkes, and Devon, in Trustees, to be sold, for the buying several Manors and Lands, to be settled to the same or the like Uses, as those to be sold are now settled, was committed, That they had agreed upon an Amendment to be made to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House; and which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time; and, upon the Question put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and is as followeth; viz.

Halford's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to vest divers Manors, Lands, and Tenements in the County of Leicester, in Trustees, to be sold, for the Payment of the Debts and Legacies of Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, deceased, and for Payment of the other Debts of Sir Wm. Halford, now living, prior to his Marriage Settlement with the Lady Frances his now Wife, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Tho. Haslerigg, Mr. Pendarvis, Sir Wm. Foster, Mr. Tredenham, Mr. Burdett, Sir Tho. Samuell, Sir Tho. Middleton, Mr. Kendall, Sir John Jennings, Sir Fr. Massam, Sir Wilf. Lawson, Mr. Thornehough, Mr. Dyot, Sir John Moreton, Mr. Bickerstaffe, Mr. Biddulph, Mr. Christy, Sir Hen. Goffe, Sir Edward Chisnall, Sir Wm. Strickland, Mr. Gwyn, Mr. Dowdswell, Mr. Neal, Mr. England, Mr. Bennett, Sir Sam. Barnadiston, Mr. Bromly, Sir Tho. Halford's Estate.

A Petition of James Oliver, Gentleman, was read; setting forth, That Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, deceased, Father of Sir Wm. Halford, now of Weltham in the County of Leicester, Knight, was, at his Decease, indebted to the Petitioner, upon Obligation, the Sum of Two hundred Pounds: That the said Sir Wm. Halford, deceased, by his last Will, in Writing, gave Power to several Trustees therein mentioned, to sell all his Messuages, Lands, and Tenements, for Payment of his Debts and Legacies in his said Will mentioned: That the said Sir Wm. Halford the Son, to whom all the said Messuages, Lands, and Tenements, are descended, as Heir at Law to his said Father, hath now a Bill depending in this House, to enable him, or Trustees by him nominated, to sell the said Messuages, Lands, and Tenements; whereby the Petitioner will infallibly lose his said Debt; the said Sir Wm. having left no Assets: And praying, That the said Bill may not pass, until Sir Wm. Halford has paid the Petitioner his Money so due, as aforesaid.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to vest divers Manors, Lands, and Tenements, in the County of Leicester, in Trustees, to be sold, for the Payment of the Debts and Legacies of Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, deceased, and for Payment of the other Debts of Sir Wm. Halford, now living, prior to his Marriage Settlement with the Lady Frances his now Wife, was committed. And also

A Petition of Wm. Walter, was read; setting forth, That Wm. Harrison, of London, Taylor, deceased, obtained against Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, a Judgment of One thousand Four hundred Pounds, for Payment of Seven hundred Pounds really due from the said Sir Wm. to the said Wm. Harrison, whose Administrator the Petitioner is in Trust for the Children of the said Wm. Harrison: That the said Sir Wm. hath now a Bill depending in this . . . . ., to enable him, or Trustees by him nominated, to sell most of his Lands and Tenements; whereby your Petitioner will be altogether disabled from Recovering of the Money due to him, as aforesaid: And praying, That the said Bill may not pass, until the said Sir Wm. Halford has given the Petitioner Satisfaction in the Premises.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to vest divers Manors, Lands, and Tenements, in the County of Leicester, in Trustees, to be sold for the Payment of the Debts and Legacies of Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, deceased, and for Payment of the other Debts of Sir Wm. Halford, now living, prior to his Marriage Settlement with the Lady Frances, his now Wife, was committed. And also

A Petition of Sir James Etheridge, Knight, was read; setting forth, That Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, deceased, did, by his last Will and Testament, in Writing, give Power unto Dame Elizabeth Halford, his now Relict, Tho. Atkyns and Henry Halford, Esquires, to mortgage or sell all his Messuages, Lands, and Tenements, for Payment of his Debts; and also for Payment of divers Legacies given by his said Will: That, at Sir Wm.'s Decease there being One thousand Two hundred Pounds due upon a Mortgage of divers Lands in the said County, from the said Sir Wm. (which Mortgage, about Two Years since, became legally vested in John Noell, Esquire), the Petitioner, by Direction of the said Dame Elizabeth Halford, Thomas Atkyns, and Henry Halford, paid to the said John Noell the said One thousand Two Hundred Pounds; and also Eight hundred Pounds to other Persons, the one being a Creditor, the other a Legatee, of the said Sir Wm.; and thereupon the said John Noell, by such Direction aforesaid, they joining therein, assigned the said mortgaged Premises to the Petitioner, for Security of the said several Sums of One thousand Two hundred Pounds, and Eight hundred Pounds; and the Petitioner hath long since preferred his Bill in Chancery, in order to have his Money, or foreclose their Equity of Redemption: That Sir Wm. (to whom all the Premises are descended, as Son and Heir of the said Sir Wm. Halford) hath now a Bill depending in this House, to transfer the Power given by them the aforesaid Trustees by the Will, to several Persons in the Bill mentioned; and to give them Power to sell all the said Messuages and Premisses for Payment of divers Debts in a Schedule to the Bill; wherein no Mention is made of the Petitioner's Debts: Whereby the Petitioner will be greatly prejudiced: For, as he is advised, if the Bill should pass, he should be barred of taking Advantage of the Covenants in the Assignment; and the Lands, so assigned, are not worth so much as is now due to the Petitioner for Principal and Interest; and will also lose all his Advantage of his Bill in Chancery: And praying That the Bill may not pass, until the said Sir Wm. has paid the Petitioner the Money due to him.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the said Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to vest divers Manors, Lands, and Tenements, in the County of Leicester, in Trustees, to be sold, for the Payment of the Debts and Legacies of Sir Wm. Halford, Knight, deceased, and for Payment of the other Debts of Sir Wm. Halford, now living, prior to his Marriage Settlement with the Lady Frances, his now Wife, was committed.

Founteyne's Estate.

Resolved, That the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the divesting the Manors and Lordships of Bushwood and Lapworth in the County of Warwick, out of Andrew Founteyne, Esquire, and vesting the same in Trustees, for raising and paying a Debt due upon a Mortgage thereof, be now read.

The Bill was read the First time.

And the Question being put, That the Bill be read a Second time:

Seamen in West India Trade.

A Bill for permitting English Ships to be navigated with Foreign Seamen to and from the West Indies, during the War, was read the Second time.

King appoints to be attended.

Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer acquaints the House, That the Members of the House, who are of his Majesty's most honourable Privy Council, had, according to the Order of Saturday last, waited on his Majesty, to know his Pleasure, When his Majesty would be attended by this House: And that his Majesty had appointed Wednesday next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Banqueting House at Whitehall.

Ordered, That the Serjeant do go into Westminster Hall, and to the several Bars there, and summon the Members to attend the Service of the House immediately.

Causes in Chancery.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, in tituled, An Act for the better Reviewing of Causes in Chancery, and other Courts of Equity. be read upon Wednesday Morning next, after Eleven a Clock.

Commissioners of Accompts.

Then the Managers appointed went to the free Conference desired on Saturday last with the Lords, upon the Subject Matter of the last Conference:

And being returned;

Sir Jos. Tredenham reports, That they had attended the said free Conference, according to the Order of the House; and acquainted the Lords, That this House had insisted on their Disagreeing with their Lordships in the Amendments to the Bill for appointing and enabling Commissioners to examine, take, and state, the publick Accompts of the Kingdom.

Supply Bill; Irish Forfeitures.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning at Ten of the Clock, proceed in the further Consideration of the Report of the Amendments to the Bill for vesting the forfeited Estates in Ireland in their Majesties, to be applied to the Use of the War.

Supply Bill; Poll Tax.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, after the Consideration of the said Report is over, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House; to consider further of the Bill for a Quarterly Poll.

London Orphans.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House; to consider further of Ways to satisfy the Debts due to the Orphans of the City of London.

Judges Commissions and Salaries.

Ordered, That Sir Fra. Drake, Mr. Waller, Mr. Bowyer, Mr. Beare, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for ascertaining the Commissions and Salaries of the Judges, is committed.
