Hackney Coaches.

ORDERED, That the Bills for regulating Hackney Coaches be read on Monday Morning next.

Debtors Escapes.

Ordered, That the Bill for the better Preventing of Escapes of Prisoners, and better Relief of the Subject in Cases of Escapes, be read upon Saturday Morning next.

Privilege- A Person discharged from Custody.

Thomas Greenfeild, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, upon a Complaint of a Breach of Privilege by him committed, in arresting Arthur Nicholson, a Messenger belonging to this House, having by his Petition made his humble Acknowledgment of his Offence, and begged the Pardon of this House; and he being, according to Order, brought to the Bar of this House, in order to his Discharge; and making his Submission upon his Knees;

Ordered, That the said Tho. Greenfeild be discharged out of Custody, paying his Fees.

Chambre's &c. Nat.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the Naturalization of Francis de la Chambre, and others, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Leave for Member to attend Lords.

Ordered, That Mr. Greenfeild have Leave to attend the Lords, as Counsel, in a Cause between the Attorney General and Jones.

Preston Election.

Then the Matter touching the Election of Burgesses to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Preston in the County of Lancaster came on to be heard at the Bar of this House, both upon the Petition of Tho. Patten, Esquire; complaining of the Election and Return of Robert Lord Willoughby of Eresby to serve as a Burgess for the said Borough; and upon the Petition of the Mayor, Bailiffs, Majority of the Aldermen, Common Council, and Capital Burgesses of the said Borough: And, after Counsel called in on both Sides, and heard;

They being withdrawn;

Resolved, That Robert Lord Willoughby of Eresby was duly elected a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Preston in the County of Lancaster.

Preston Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown to make out a new Writ for electing a Burgess to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Preston in the County of Lancaster, in the room of Robert Lord Willoughby of Eresby, who is called up to the House of Lords.

Cooke's Estate.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Rob. Legard:

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for the Enabling of Trustees to sell certain Lands of Richard Cooke, deceased, to pay Debts, and raise a Portion for his Daughter: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Punishing Mutiny and Desertion.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee to whom the Bill for punishing Officers and Soldiers who shall mutiny or desert their Majesties Service, and for punishing false Musters, was committed, be considered To-morrow Morning at Nine a Clock.

Ways and Means.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning at Ten a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supplies to be granted to their Majesties.

Persons in Custody to be examined.

Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House do bring Mr. John Price, and Mr. Rice Vaughan, who are in his Custody, to the Committee of Privileges and Elections, To-morrow in the Afternoon, to be examined as Witnesses: And that afterwards they be remanded.

East India Company.

Ordered, That the Petition of the East India Company, and the Petitions against the said Company, which have been presented to this House, be read upon Saturday Morning next.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.

Haberdasher's Charity.

A Bill for the settling a Charity given to the Haberdashers Company by Robert Aske, Esquire, deceased, was presented to the House; and received.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
