ORDERED, That Mr. Solicitor General, and Mr. Finch, have Leave to attend the Lords, as Counsel, in a Cause between Row and Gwyn.
Aulnage Duty.
Ordered, That the Report from the Committee to whom the Matter touching the Aulnage, is referred, be made upon Saturday Morning next.
Grantham's Estate.
A Petition of Vincent Grantham, Esquire, was read; setting forth, That, upon the Petitioner's Marriage with Margaret his Wife, he settled the Manor of Goltho, and other Lands, on himself for Life; and after his Death, charged the same with Two hundred and Fifty Pounds per Annum to her for Life; and the Remainder of the whole Estate was settled on their Sons in Tail, with a Power to the Petitioner to make a Lease for Ninety-nine Years, to raise a Thousand Pounds for Daughters; and Annuities of Fifty Pounds apiece for younger Sons: That of Three thousand One hundred Pounds, charged on the said Estate, before it came to the Petitioner, he hath paid One thousand One hundred Pounds; whereby, and by the Petitioner's buying in an Annuity thereon charged, he is become much indebted; which he is desirous of paying off, and discharging: And praying Leave to bring in a Bill to charge his Estate with Two thousand Five hundred Pounds for Payment of Debts; whereof Two thousand Pounds was charged upon the said Estate precedent to his Settlement thereof.
Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill accordingly.
East India Company.
A Petition of sundry Merchants, Linendrapers, Silkmen, Silkthrowers, Druggists, Salters, and other Traders, and who used to deal with the East India Company, was presented to the House.
Ordered, That the Petition of the East India Company, formerly presented to this House, and the said Petition against the said Company, be read upon Tuesday Morning next.
Insolvent Debtors.
A Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners, was read the First time.
Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.
New Radnor & Mitchell Returns amended.
The Clerk of the Crown attended, and amended the Return for the Borough of New Radnor, by rasing out the Name of Sir Rowland Gwyn, and inserting the Name of Robert Harley, Esquire, in the stead thereof: And also amended the Return for the Borough of Mitchell, by rasing out the Name of Antho. Row, Esquire, and inserting the Name of Humfry Courtney, Esquire, in the stead thereof.
Westminster, &c. Paving.
Sir Wm. Poultny reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for paving and Cleansing the Streets in the City and Liberty of Westminster, and Out Parishes in the County of Middlesex, and Borough of Southwark, within the Weekly Bills of Mortality; and for regulating the Haymarket at Charing Cross, in the Parish of St. Martin's in the Fields; was committed; That they had agreed upon several Amendments to be made to the Bill: Which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place; and afterwards, delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one: And with an Amendment made to some of the said Amendments, the same were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.
Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.
Prideaux's Claim on Lord Jeffryes.
A Petition of the Lord Chief Justice Pollexfen, and others, Trustees for the Children and Creditors of the late Lord Jeffryes, was read; setting forth, That they being informed of a Bill brought in to this House, for charging the Estate of the Lord Jeffryes in Com. Leicester with the Payment of Fourteen thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Pounds to Edmund Prideaux, Esquire, together with Interest, and praying to be heard, by Counsel, at the Bar of the House, in pursuance of the Trust reposed in them, to offer Reasons against the Bill.
Ordered, That the Petitioners be heard at the Bar of the House against the said Bill, before the same do pass.
Act of Navigation respecting English Seamen.
Ordered, That the Bill for suspending, during the War, with France, that Part of the Act of Navigation which obliges English Ships to sail with English Seamen, be read To-morrow Morning at Ten a Clock; and nothing to intervene.
Scroope's Estate.
A Message from the Lords, by Sir John Hoskyns and Sir Adam Ottley;
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for vesting divers Lands in Trustees, to be sold for Payment of certain Debts of Saintleger Scroope, Esquire, deceased: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
And then the Messengers withdrew.
Supply Bill; Excise.
Resolved, That the House do now resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill for doubling the Excise.
And the House resolved into a Committee of the
whole House accordingly.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor General took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor General reported from the said Committee, That they had made a considerable Progress in the
Bill: And that they had directed him to move the House,
That they may have Leave to sit again To-morrow
Morning.
Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill; and nothing to intervene.
Navy and Army Estimates, &c.
Ordered, That the Committees to whom the Estimates and Accompts relating to the Army, Navy, and Treasury, are referred, be revived; and sit this Afternoon: And, that Sir Christopher Musgrave, Mr. Hutchinson, Mr. Harly, be added to the said Committee.

Ordered, That Sir Tho. Tayler, Sir Jos. Williamson, Mr. Harly, Sir Rob. Cotton, Mr. Brockman, Mr. Brewer, Sir Robert Cotton, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for charging the Estate of the late Lord Jeffryes in Leicestershire, with Fourteen thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Pounds, and Interest, is committed.
