Prayers.
Wentworth's Estate.
A PETITION of Susannah Wentworth, on Behalf
of John Wentworth her Son, an Infant under the
Age of Twenty-one Years, was read; setting forth, That
the Petitioner, the Infant, is seized of some Lands in
Morland in Com Westmorland, of about Seventy-four
Pounds per Annum, which lieth adjoining to the Park of
the Right honourable Sir John Lowther, and which has
been much annoyed by his Deer, and several Suits may
happen in relation thereunto; for the Avoiding whereof,
the Petitioners have agreed with Sir John Lowther for
Sale of the said Estate, he having bought other Part of
the Petitioner's Estate, lying in Hutton Roofe, of Fiftythree Pounds per Annum: And that the said Premises
lie about Sixty Miles from the Petitioner's other Estate:
And for that, by reason of the Petitioner's Infancy, he
cannot make a good Conveyance of the Premises, and
praying Leave to bring in a Bill to vest the same in Trustees to be sold; and they to apply the Monies arising
thereby for the Purchase of other Lands to the same Uses
the Premises now are.
Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill according to the Prayer of the said Petition.
Bramber Election.
A Petition of Wm. Stringer, Esquire, was read; setting forth, That on the Fourth of March last, the Petitioner, Dr. Barbon, and Dr. Ratcliffe, stood Candidates
at the Election for Bramber in the County of Suffolke:
But that Dr. Barbon, and Dr. Ratcliffe, by undue Practices,
procured themselves to be returned, in Wrong to the
Petitioner: And praying the Consideration of the House
in the Premises.
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be
referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections:
Who are to examine the Matter thereof; and report the
same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.
Southwarke Election.
A Petition of Sir Peter Rich and Sir Thomas Cooke was
read; setting forth, That the Petitioners, with Anth.
Bowyer, and John Arnold, Esquires, stood Candidates
for the Borough of Southwarke, at the last Election of
Members to serve in this present Parliament; where the
Petitioners consented to all Methods they had proposed,
upon Confidence it would produce a peaceable Poll: But,
on the contrary, so many ill Practices were made use of
by one of the other Candidates, and his Agents, against
the Petitioners, and those that voted for them, that some
Hundreds went away, and remain unpolled, in Prejudice
to the Petitioners: And praying the Consideration of the
House in the Premises.
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be
referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections:
Who are to examine the Matter thereof; and report their
Opinions therein to the House.
Recovery of Tythes.

Tryals for Treason.
A Bill to regulate Tryals in Cases of Treason, was read the Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, upon the Debate of the House: And it is to be an Instruction to the said Committee, That they leave out the Word "Impeachment," throughout the Bill, and every thing relating to Impeachments.
Ordered, That the House will, upon Monday sevennight next, at Ten of the Clock in the Morning, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.
Supply.
Then the House resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply to their Majesties.

St. Ives Election.
A Petition of John Hawles, Esquire, was read; setting
forth, That a Writ lately issued out for the Chusing of
Two Burgesses to serve in this present Parliament for St.
Ives in Com. Cornwall; at which Election the Majority of
those Persons that had a legal Right to vote, voted for the
Petitioner; and more would so have done, had they not
been hindered by the pretended Mayor of the Town; and
who hath returned James Praed, Esquire, and Wm. Harris,
Esquire, as Burgesses for the said Borough: And praying
the Consideration of the House in the Premises.
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition
be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections:
Who are to examine the Matter thereof; and report the
same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.
Making Militia useful.
Ordered, That Mr. Ryder be added to the Committee
appointed to prepare and bring in a Bill for the better
regulating and making the Militia of the Kingdom more
useful.
