ORDERED, That Mr. Jodrell, the Clerk of this House, have Leave to attend the Lords, in a Cause between Coke and Founteine.

Edon's Estate.

A Bill to enable Thamas Edon, Esquire, to sell Lands to pay his Debts, and make Provision for his Wife, in lieu of her Jointure, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir John Brownlow, Colonel Whitley, Mr. Edw. Montague, Sir John Manwaring, Sir Edw. Harley, Mr. Christy, Sir Trevor Williams, Mr. Smith, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Cha: Montague, Captain Wroth, Mr. Ellwell, Sir Tho. Darcye, Sir Cha. Bloys, Mr. Blowfeild, Sir Rob. Privilege- petition from a person in custody.

A Petition of Tho. Burridge, committed by this House a Prisoner to the Gatehouse, was read; whereby he prayed to be discharged of his Imprisonment, having begged the Pardon of Sir Rich. Middleton (upon whose Complaint he was first committed); and begging the Pardon of the House.

Ordered, That the said Tho. Burridge be discharged of his Imprisonment.

Call of the House.

Then the Order for the Calling-over the House, this Day, was read.

Resolved, That the House proceed therein.

Accordingly the House was called over by the Book of Returns of the Members; and the Defaulters' noted down.

Afterwards the Defaulters were called over again; and such as made Default to answer thereupon, were again noted down; and Excuses for several of them (that were so absent) were allowed.

And Notice being taken of Sir Jonathan Jennings as a Defaulter; and the House being informed that he was lately made High Sheriff of Yorkshire; a Debate arose thereupon.

Members not to be Sheriffs.

Resolved, Nemine contradicente, That the Nominating of any Member of this House to the King, to be made a Sheriff, is a Breach of the Privileges of this House.

Resolved, That an humble Address be made to his Majesty, That he will please to constitute another Sheriff for the County of York, for this present Year, in the room of Sir Jonathan Jennings.

Ordered, That such Members of this House as are of his Majesty's most honourable Privy Council, do attend his Majesty with the said Address.

The House being informed, that Francis Cholmly, Esquire, one of the Members of this House, was in Town, and had not attended the House all this Session.;

Ordered, That Notice be given him by the Serjeant at Arms, That he attend this House upon Thursday Morning next.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine of the Clock.
