Prayers.

Multiplying Gold and Silver.

A BILL to repeal the Statute of 5° Henrici VI^ti, against the Multiplying of Gold and Silver, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Sir Walter Moyle, Major Vincent, Mr. Buscawen, Mr. Grey, Mr. Paul Foley, Sir Wm. Strickland, Sir Fra. Russell, Mr. Roberts, Sir Fra. Drake, Mr. Colman, Sir Jos. Trendenham, Mr. Blowfeild, Mr. Montague, Mr. Chetwyn, Mr. Gowre, * Rowland Babington, Mr. Bickerstaffe, Mr. Tho. Foley, Mr. Lassells, Sir Wm. Cooke, Mr. Harly, Sir Mat. Andrews, and all the Members that serve for the Counties of Devon, Cornwall, Derby, and York, and the Principality of Wales: And they are to meet this Afternoon, at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Privilege- a Person in Custody Petitions for Discharge.

A Petition of Milicent Oddley was read; setting forth, That she was in Custody for causing one Gregory to be arrested, in regard he is a Servant to the Lord Fairfax; That the said Gregory was Tenant to the Petitioner, who has nothing to live on but her said Rent; and she arrested him for his Rent behind, having lived in her House about Five or Six Years: That he was a Surgeon; and not known to be his Lordship's Servant, nor did ever see his Lordship's Certificate; but as soon as she heard of the Protection did nevertheless discharge the said Gregory: And she having (as hopeth) satisfied the Lord Fairfax; and begging the Pardon of the House; and praying to be discharged out of Custody.

Ordered, That Milicent Oddley be discharged out of Custody, paying her Fees.

Wye, &c. Navigation.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for making the Rivers of Wye and Lugg, in the County of Hereford, navigable, be made on Wednesday Morning next, the first Business.

Debtors' Relief.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for Relief of poor Prisoners, is referred, be made on Thursday Morning, the first Business.

Militia.

Then the House resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Bill for rendering the Militia more useful.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Grey took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Grey reports from the Committee of the whole House, That they had made some Progress in the Bill; but that they had not Time to go through the same at present.

Leave for Member to attend Lords.

Ordered, That Mr. Finch have Leave to attend the Bar of the House of Lords, as Counsel, in a Cause between Popham and Bampfeild.

Privilege- taking a Member into custody.

Sir Thomas Clargis reports, That he and Sir Joseph Tredenham, and Mr. Sacheverell, had, according to the Order of the House, attended the Earl of Nottingham; and taken his Lordship's Answer, as he was pleased to give the same, to the several Questions directed by the House; the which they put into Writing: And he read the same in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Resolved, That the said Report do lie upon the Table till To-morrow Morning.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
