Prayers.

Borealston Election.

MR. Speaker acquainting the House, that he had received a Letter from Sir John Maynard, Knight, Serjeant at Law, that he was chosen to serve in this present Convention, both for the Borough of Plymouth, in the County of Devon, and also for the Borough of Borealston in the same County; and that he made his Election to serve for the said Borough of Plymouth:

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do make Application, by his Letter, to the Prince of Orange, to issue out his Highness's Letter for electing a Burgess to serve in this present Convention, for the Borough of Borealston in the County of Devon, in the room of Sir John Maynard.

Southwarke Election.

A Petition of the Inhabitants of the Borough of Southwarke in the County of Surrey, complaining of an undue Election and Return of Burgesses to serve in this present Convention, for the said Borough, and of divers undue Practices, touching the said Election, was read.

A Question was put, That the Petitioners, who subscribed the Petition, should be called in, to own the Petition:

It passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee for Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof, and to report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Suffolke Election.

A Petition of Sir Samuel Barnardiston, Baronet, complaining of an undue Election and Return of Knights to serve in this present Convention, for the County of Suffolke, in Prejudice of the Petitioner, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof, and to report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Poole Election.

A Petition of Thomas Chaffin, Esquire, setting forth, that he, with Henry Trenchard, Esquire, was chosen, and returned by the Sheriff of the Town and County of Poole, to serve as Burgess in this present Convention, for the said Town; but that the Sheriff had also returned Sir Nathanael Nappier, in Prejudice of the Petitioner; and praying that the Merits of the Cause may be heard at the same time with the Double Return; was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges, to do therein as to them shall seem meet.

Knaresborough Election.

A Petition of Thomas Fawkes, Esquire, setting forth, that Wm. Stockdale, Esquire, is returned for One of the Burgesses for the Borough of Knaresborough in the County of Yorke; and that the Bailiff of the said Borough hath, as to the Petitioner, and Edw. Viscount Latimer, made a Double Return; but that, upon the face of the Return, it appeareth, the Petitioner ought to be the other Burgess to serve in this Convention for the said Borough; and praying that he may be relieved therein, accordingly.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges, to do therein as to them shall seem meet.

Rye Election.

A Petition of Peter Gott, Esquire, complaining of an undue Election and Return of Burgesses or Barons to serve in this present Convention, for the Port of Rye in the County of Sussex, in Prejudice of the Petitioner, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof, and to report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Abingdon Election.

A Petition of Sir John Stonhouse, Baronet, complaining of an undue Election and Return of a Burgess to serve in this present Convention, for the Borough of Abingdon in the County of Berks, in Prejudice of the Petitioner, was read.

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof, and to report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Defaulters at Call of the House.

The House proceeded, according to the Order made on Tuesday last, to the Calling over the Names of such Members of the House as were certified by the Clerk of the Crown, who then made Default; and of such others as have been since that time certified: And those that now made Default were noted down.

Dr. Sharpe to preach on 30 Jan.

Resolved, That there be a Sermon preached before this House at St. Margaretts, Westminster, on the Thirtieth of January instant.

Ordered, That the Reverend Dr. Sharpe, Dean of Norwich, be desired to preach before the House at St. Margaretts Westminster, on the Thirtieth of January Instant; and that Sir John Knight do acquaint him with the Desire of the House.

And then the House adjourned until Monday Morning, Nine a Clock.
