THE Lord Chancellor excused the Absence of the Lord Treasurer, for that his Lordship is otherwise employed upon His Majesty's Service of Importance.

The Absence of the Lord Bishop of Rochester was by the Lord Chancellor excused, for that the said Lord Bishop is hindered by Sickness.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act against Nonresidence and Pluralities of Benefices.

And was referred to Committees: videlicet,

Resolved, That, to the End the House may examine every Point of the said Bill particularly and at large, the rather because the same is of much Importance, and came up recommended to this House by the Lower House of Parliament, therefore the whole House should meet as a Committee here in the House, on Thursday, the 3d of May, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

An Act for Confirmation of Decrees, hereafter to be made, in the Exchequer Chamber, and Dutchy Court, concerning Customary and Copyhold Lands and Tenements.

2. An Act for Confirmation of a Decree, made in the Exchequer Chamber, between the King's Majesty and the Copyholders of His Majesty's Manor of Edelmeton, alias Edmonton, in the County of Middlesex.

3. An Act restraining the Execution of Canons Ecclesiastical not confirmed by Parliament.

4. An Act for the securing and confirming of certain Lands and Tenements, heretofore granted, devised, or conveyed, to the Companies of Salters and Brewers of London.

5. An Act for the making void of certain Conveyances, and the Estates limited thereby, unduly gotten from Sir Henry Crispe, Knight, whereby he is defrauded of the Inheritance of divers Manors, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, lying in the County of Kent; and for the establishing of the Inheritance of the same in the said Sir Henry Crispe and his Heirs.

6. An Act for the Naturalizing of Levinus Munk, one of the Clerks of His Majesty's Signet.

7. An Act for the Naturalizing of Sir George Ramsey, Knight, Equerry of the most excellent Prince Henry, Walter Alexander, Gentleman Usher of the said Prince Henry, and John Sandilandis, Groom of the said Prince's Bed-chamber.

8. An Act for the Naturalizing of Peter Vanloore, of Fanchurch-street, London, Merchant.

Waldgrave to sell Lands for certain Uses.

The Lord Privy Seal, being the first in the Committee on a Bill, An Act for enabling Charles Walgrave, Esquire, to make Sale of certain Lands, for the Payment of his Debts, and the Advancement of his younger Sons and Daughters, reported to the House, That the Committees had met on the said Bill; and, although the Drift and Purpose thereof was good, yet in divers Points it required so many Amendments as that the same could not well be amended; whereupon it was Ordered, The Lords Committees should amend the same, and cause it to be new written, and then bring it in as a new Bill.
