Message from the Lower House by Sir John Fortescu, Mr. Secretary Herbert, and others:
The Union.
That whereas their Lordships desired further Meeting and Conference with the Lower House, about the Points of the Union, and especially the Third Point, as was signified by Two several Messages, the one sent the 14th of this Instant, the other the 20th; they will, after this Day, whensoever it shall please the Lords, be ready to confer on the First Clause considerable in the Point of Naturalization; videlicet, how the Law standeth in Force for the present, touching the Naturalization of such of the Scottish Men as have been born since His Majesty came to the Crown.
Answer, That the Lords will meet for Conference upon Wednesday next, by Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, at the Painted Chamber.
Naturalization of the Scots.
In the mean Time, the Judges are required to confer together this Afternoon, on the Point of Law touching Naturalization, that they may deliver their Opinion to the Lords, in the House, To-morrow Morning.
