Returned, with certain Amendments, and a Proviso thought meet to be added by the Lower House; which Amendments and Proviso were presently read Thrice, and thereupon the Bill Exped.

The Speaker of the House of Commons's Speech.
The Speaker of the Lower House, accompanied with divers Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, having made a Speech unto His Majesty (expressing great Praise and Commendation of His said Majesty therein, with Thanks to God for the Happiness that the State enjoyed by so Gracious a King, and with Thanks likewise to His Majesty for all His Gracious Benefits, and especially for the Act of His Free and General Pardon; and withall containing humble Request, First, for His Majesty's Royal Assent to the Acts passed both Houses; Secondly, for His Gracious Pardon in any Thing they had unwillingly and Unwittingly offended; and Thirdly, for His Majesty's Pardon to himself); after the King had most graciously made Answer thereunto, and delivered His Mind, with Approbation of the Proceedings in this Session of Parliament; all the Titles of the Acts passed both Houses were openly read, by the Clerk of the Crown, and the King's Royal Assent pronounced by the Clerk of the Parliament unto every of the said Acts, without Exception to any; which the King himself, in His Speech, did before mention, as a special Token of His Grace and Favour, being a Matter in former Times unusual to pass all Acts, without any Exception.
Merick's Bill.
Only it pleased Him, by Word of Mouth, openly to give Admonition concerning one Act (namely, the Act for Restitution of Roland Merick, etc. in Blood), That no such Act of Restitution from henceforth should be proceeded withall in Parliament, till the same were first allowed and signed by the King; and that then it ought to being first in the Higher House; whereof His Majesty did expressly will an Observation and Remembrance to be made.
The Acts being read, and His Majesty's Royal Assent pronounced, the Lord Chancellor, in a short Speech (by His Majesty's Commandment), prorogued the Parliament till Tuesday, the 18th of November next.
