Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act to establish in the Crown the Lands and Possessions of Henry late Lord Cobham, and George Brooke, Esquire, attainted of High Treason, with a Confirmation of Grants made by His Majesty.
Sir David Foulis's Naturalzation, &c.
The said Bill and the Bill for Sir David Foulis were sent to the Lower House, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke and Mr. Dr. Hone.
Matters Ecclesiastical.
Relation made particularly by the Lord Archbishop of Cant. of that which had been delivered by the Committees of the Lower House, at the Conference Yesterday, touching the Four Points, or Articles, of Matters Ecclesiastical; and Signification given by him, That the Lords Committees, upon Hearing of the same, thought fit to require some competent Time to make their Answer; and that the Committees of the Lower House did willingly assent thereunto, but desired that some Speed might be used therein; for which Purpose the Lords, after some Consultation had thereof this Day, sent a Message, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke and Mr. Dr. Hone, to the Lower House, That they were willing to give them Meeting, for Answer touching those Four Points as aforesaid, upon Thursday next, the 17th of this Instant April, by Two in the Afternoon, at the Painted Chamber; and would send the same Committees of this House, which were formerly appointed for this Conference.
Answered, That they yield their Lordships reverend and respective Thanks, and will be ready to attend the Conference, at the Time and Place assigned.
Moved, and accordingly Agreed upon by the House, That the Lords the Bishops shall, in the mean while, consider, and inform themselves beforehand, of such Answer as they conceive fit to be made to the Particularities of those Points delivered by the Committees of the Lower House; and, upon Thursday next, in the Forenoon, make Declaration of the chief Heads or Points thereof to the Lords, that their Lordships may in like Sort be the better prepared for the Conference.
Adjourn.
