Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act to restrain the excessive Number of Inmates, and meaner Sort of People, which withdraw themselves from other remote Parts of the Realm, and pester the City of London, and the Liberties thereof.

Exportation of Iron Ordnance, etc.

The Bill, intituled, An Act against Transportation of Iron Ordnance, Gun Metal, Iron Ore, Iron Mine, and Iron Shot, was this Day returned to the House, by the Lord Chamberlain, the second of the Committees, with certain Amendments, and a Proviso offered to be added, which Amendments and Proviso were presently read; and thereupon the said Proviso appointed to be ingrossed.

His Majesty's Privilege.

Reading's Arrest.

Whereas the Lords did, upon Saturday last, the 9th of this Instant, refer unto the Lord Bergevenny, Lord Sydney, and Lord Wotton, or any Two of them, the Matter of Debt (for the which Nicholas Reading), a Yeoman of the Chamber, had been lately arrested, at the Suit of Sir Edward Hales, Knight), to be by them compounded and ordered between the said Sir Edward Hales and the said Reading, in some reasonable and indifferent Manner, if they might; Report was this Day made by the Lord Bergevenny, That he the said Lord Bergevenny, the Lord Sydney, and Lord Wotton, had made a Composition and Agreement between them accordingly; which was this, That the said Sir Edward Hales is well contented to accept of the Sum of Eighteen Pounds, to be paid at Christmas next, in full Discharge of the said Debt, and of the Charges of the Suit; and the said Nicholas Reading hath undertaken to enter into Bond, with Two good Sureties, before Saturday next, the 16th of this Instant, for the Payment of the said Sum of Eighteen Pounds unto Sir Edward Hales, at Christmas next, as aforesaid: The which Order the House doth well like of, ratify, and approve.
