Trussell arrested.
Memorandum, That Trussell, Servant to the Earl of Devonshire, having been of late arrested by the Bailiffs of Northampton, at the Suit of Sir William Skeffington, as he was coming in his Journey towards London, to give his Attendance on his Lordship; and having been sithence removed from thence, by a Writ of Privilege of Parliament, was this Day called before the Lords into the House, together with the Bailiffs that arrested him; the which Bailiffs, protesting that they knew not the said Trussell (at the Time of the Arrest) to be the Earl of Devonshire's Servant, were discharged by the Court; and the Prisoner likewise was discharged, his Arrest being but only upon Mesne Process; the Tenor of which Writ of Privilege, and the Sheriff's Return thereupon, is set down in the next Page.
Union of England and Scotland.
A Motion made by the Lord Chancellor, That (according to the King's Speech, both in the Beginning of the Parliament and since, upon Resort of divers of the Lords and the Commons to Him in the Court, for the proceeding in such Matters and Affairs, in this the First Parliament of His Reign, as are of greatest Importance for the State, and especially in the Matter of Union of the Kingdoms of England and Scotland) some Proposition might be made to the Lower House, for Conference to be had, by certain Committees to be appointed by their Lordships of this House, with a select and competent Number of the Lower House, about the said Matter of Union, what Course were fittest to be taken therein; which Motion being seconded by the Lord Treasurer, the Lords assented thereunto in general; and thereupon a Message to that Effect was sent to the Lower House, by Mr. Justice Gawdie, Mr. Baron Savile, Mr. Serjeant Crooke, and Mr. Attorney General; and to signify, that the Number appointed by their Lordships for this Conference were Forty-two, or thereabouts; and the Time of Meeting desired to be this present Day, by Two in the Afternoon, at the Outward Chamber, near the Parliament Presence, if conveniently it might be: Whereunto Signification of their Assent was returned; and thereupon the Committees for this Conference were appointed these hereunder mentioned: videlicet,

Upon a Motion made to the House, by the Lord Treasurer, the Meeting of the Committees, on the Bill concerning Brokers, was deferred till Monday next, 16th April, at Eight in the Morning.
Jernengen's Lands, for Payment of Debts.
Upon a like Motion of the Lord Chamberlain, Mr. Jernengen's Bill was deferred till Tuesday, 17th April, at Two in the Afternoon.
Drunkards, &c.
Upon another Motion of the Earl of South'ton, the Bill against Drunkards, and Mr. Lister's Bill, were deferred until Tuesday, etc. as the former.

Trussel's Arrest.
"Vobis præcipimus, quod Corpus Willielmi Trussell, Generosi, quocunque nomine censeat, captum, et in Prisona Nostra, sub Custodia vestra, ut dicitur, detentum, habeatis coram Nobis, in Parliamento Nostro, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. immediate post Receptionem hujus Brevis, una cum Causa Captionis et Detentionis ipsius Willielmi in Prisona prædicta. Et hoc nullatenus omittatis; et habeatis ibi hoc Breve. Teste Meipso, apud Westmr, 7 die Aprilis, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Secundo, et Scotiæ 37°."
