Prayers.

Supply. Bill; Duty on Brandy.

AN ingrossed Bill to prevent the Importation of foreign Brandy; and to give a Recompence to his Majesty for his Duty thereupon . . . . . : And, after several Amendments made at the Table;

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act to prevent the Importation of foreign Brandy; and to give a Recompence to his Majesty for his Duty thereupon:

Lords reminded of Bills.

And that Colonel Birch do carry up the Bill: And put the Lords in mind of the Bill concerning Jurors; and the Bill against spiriting away of Children.

Rebuilding London.

The House proceeded upon the Amendments, sent down from the Lords, to the Bill for rebuilding the City of London: Which, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to, saving only the Proviso marked (E), relating to Serjeants Inn, in Fleet-street: Which being twice read, was, upon the Question, agreed to, with this Amendment: Add, in the Tenth Line of the Proviso, after the Word "impowered," "and to order and decree such Recompence and Satisfaction."

Entry to be made in Journal.

Ordered, That it be referred to Col. Birch, Sir Tho. Meeres, Col. Reames, Mr. Coleman, Col. Talbott, to see a true Entry made in the Journal of the Matters concerning Sir John Prettiman.

Members Protections.

Resolved, &c. That no Member of this House do grant any Protection to any but such only as are their menial Servants: And that all Protections already granted to any other Persons besides menial Servants, be forthwith withdrawn, and called in.

Resolved, &c. That all Protections, and written Certificates, of the Members of this House, be declared void in Law; and be forthwith withdrawn, and called in; and that none be granted for the future; and that the Privilege of Members for their menial Servants be observed according to Law: And that, if any menial Servant shall be arrested and detained contrary to Privilege, he shall, upon Complaint thereof made, be discharged by Order from the Speaker.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir John Coell and Sir John Halsey;

Duchy of Cornwall Leasing.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you the Bill to enable his Majesty to let Leases of his Duchy Lands in Cornwall, with some Alterations and Amendments; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Union with Scotland.

We are also commanded to acquaint this honourable House, That their Lordships have agreed to the Proviso, sent up by this House, to the Bill, intituled, An Act authorizing certain Commissioners of the Realm of England, to treat with Commissioners of Scotland, for the Weal of both Kingdoms.

Strode's Estate.

Also, That they have agreed to the Amendments, sent up by this House, to the Bill, intituled, An Act concerning the disposing of a House and Lands belonging to the Sisters and Coheirs of Margarett Strode: And,

Davison's Estate.

That they have agreed to the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Thomas Davison to sell Lands, to pay Debts, and provide for younger Children, without any Alteration or Amendment.

Lords intend to sit.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, that they intend to sit this Afternoon.

A MESSAGE from the Lords, by * * * *

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint this honourable House, that they have agreed to the Amendment in the Proviso, marked (E), concerning Serjeants Inn in Fleet-street, in the Bill concerning the City of London.

Duchy of Cornwall Leasing.

The House proceeded upon the Amendments, sent down by the Lords, to the Bill concerning the Duchy of Cornwall: Which were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed unto; and afterwards read the Third time.

Searching of Wines.

A Bill concerning the Searching and Essay of Wines was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir John Coriton, Col. Birch: Sir Wm. Bassett, Sir Robert Carr, Sir Tho. Meeres, Sir John Birkenhead, Sir Hen. Newton, Mr. Tanner, Sir Jonath. Trelawny, Sir Court. Poole, Mr. Guy, Col. Reames, Mr. Seymour, Mr Neale, Col. Talbott, Mr. Milward, Sir Edm. Windham, Sir Wm. Coventry, Sir John Talbott, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Pleydall, Col. Kirby, Sir Wm. Fleetwood: And they are to meet on Monday next at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And have Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Ordered, That Sir Charles Harbord do carry up the Bill concerning Duchy Lands: And do put the Lords in mind of the Bill concerning Jurors.

Time appointed for giving Judgment against a Member.

Resolved, &c. That a Day be given to Sir John Prettiman to appear, and receive the Judgment of the House against him.

Resolved, &c. That the Day be the Second Tuesday at the next Meeting after the Recess.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
