Kendall's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill to enable a Sale of Lands, for Payment of the Debts of Henry Kendall Esquire, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act to enable a Sale of Lands, for the Payments of the Debts of Henry Kenday Esquire.

And Mr. Grey is to carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Lord Norris Estate.

Sir John Birkenhead reports from the Committee to which the Bill for investing the Estate of James Lord Norris in certain Trustees was committed, some Amendments agreed to be made by the Committee to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the Amendments, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed.

A Petition of Dame Mary Cholmeley, now Wife of Edw. Cooke Esquire, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Bills from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Wm. Child and Sir John Cole;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you Three Bills; the one intituled, An Act for making Provisions for such Places or Persons as shall be infected with the Plague; another Act, intituled, An Act for erecting a Judicature for determining of Differences touching Houses burnt or demolished by reason of the late Fire which happened in London; another Act, intituled, An Act for Naturalizing of Dame Mary Frazer, and others, with some Alterations and Additions: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Privilege.

Sir Job Charlton reports from the Committee of Privileges, That the Committee had examined the Matter of Breach of Privilege objected against Thomas White, in causing Henry Chowne Esquire, a Member of this House, to be arrested; and found, That, the First of April last, being Twenty-two Days before the Sitting of the House, Matthew White, Servant and Kinsman of Thomas White, gave a Warrant to Robert Ryde Bailiff, to execute on Mr. Chowne; and charged him to take good Bail at his Peril; for the Damage was great: And the Damage set down at the Foot of the Warrant was Ten thousand Pounds: And that this Warrant was also of the Hand-writing of Thomas White; and was executed on Mr. Chowne on the Lord's Day, as he was coming from the Church: And that this Matter was looked upon by the Committee as a malicious Conspiracy to disgrace Mr. Chowne, and a Design to prevent him from giving his Attendance in Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee of Privileges, That there was a Practice and Design, in the said Thomas and Matthew White, to prevent Henry Chowne Esquire from giving his Attendance in Parliament: And that they are guilty of the Breach of Privilege, in causing the said Mr. Chowne to be arrested.

Resolved, &c. That Thomas and Matthew White be taken into Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for their Abuse, and Breach of Privilege, committed against Henry Chowne Esquire, a Member of this House.

Conference with Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Wm. Child and Sir Walter Littleton.

The Lords desire a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, with this House, upon the Bill for taking the publick Accompts.

The Messengers being called in; Mr. Speaker acquaints them, That the House had agreed to a present Conference.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Howard, Mr. Garraway, Mr. Solicitor, Sir Robert Atkins, Sir Tho. Gower, Sir Robert Carr, Mr. Seymour, Sir Thom. Meeres, Serjeant Charlton, do manage the Conference.

Sir Robert Howard reports from the Conference had with the Lords, That the Lord Bridgwater and Lord Anglesey did manage the Conference; and delivered the Bill touching the Accompts of publick Monies, with some Amendments made by the Lords to the Bill; and the Reasons of the Lords for such Amendments, and in Reply to the Reasons of this House: And delivered in the Bill, with the Amendments, at the Clerk's Table.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill for Attendance of Members be made forthwith, after the Bill of Assessment is dispatched.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

SIR Thomas Clergis reports from the Committee to which the Bill to prevent Abuses in Seamen was committed, some Amendments to be made, and a Clause to be added, to the Bill: Which he read; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Bedford Level.

The House then proceeded to the Hearing of the Matter upon the Bill concerning Bedford Level.

The Connsel for Mr. Howard, and others, concerned in the Bill; and Mr. Serjeant Fountaine; and the Counsel of the Lord Gorge, Mr. Chichley, and such others as were against the Bill; being called to the Bar of this House, and fully heard;
