Prayers.

Medway Navigation.

AN ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for making the River Medway navigable, in the Counties of Kent and Sussex, with some Amendments, and a Proviso, agreed by this House, was read a Third time.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments and Proviso, be returned to the Lords; and their Concurrence desired therein.

Hertfordshire Roads.

A Proviso, sent down from the Lords, to the Bill for Continuance of a former Act for repairing the Highways in the County of Hertford, was thrice read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Proviso be agreed to, and made Part of the Bill.

Deeping Fen.

An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for Draining of the Fen called Deeping Fen, and other Fens therein mentioned, was read a Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be committed to Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Robert Car, Sir Hump. Winch, Sir John Norton, Sir Tho. Meres, Sir Hen. Capell, Sir Solo. Swale, Lord Allington, Sir Robert Holt, Sir Bayn. Throckmorton, Sir Wm. Hickman, Sir Edm. Pooley, Sir Jo. Newton, Sir Rich. Oateley, Sir Adrian Scroope, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Sir Jo. Mountague, Mr. St. John, Mr. Crouch, and all the Members of this House that serve for the several Counties of Yorke, Lincolne, Bedford, and Cambridge: And they are to meet at Two of the Clock this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Excise.

Sir Tho. Meres reports from the Committee to which the Bill for better regulating and collecting the Duty of Excise . . . . some Amendments agreed by the Committee to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which Amendments were twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Ordered, That these . . . ., "That from and after the Eighth Day of November, which shall be in the Year of our Lord 1665," be inserted in the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Privilege.

The Question being put, That Samuell Lavington, now in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for his Contempt in disobeying the Order of the Committee of this House, be discharged;

It passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms do bring Samuell Lavington, and have him in Readiness, on Monday Morning, to be called to the Bar of this House, for his Contempt of the Order of the Committee, and Breach of the Privilege of this House.

Bill from Lords, &c.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Child and Sir Just. Lewen;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you the Bill for settling the Estate of Sir Robert Curr Baronet; with some Amendments and Additions: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House: And have also commanded us to acquaint you, That they have concurred with this House in the Bill for settling the Differences between the two Towns of Great and Little Yarmouth.

Hallage Duty.

Sir John Talbott reports from the Committee to which the Bill for regulating the Duty of Hallage was committee, That the Committee had agreed some Amendments to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Ordered, That the Reading and Debate of this Bill be heard on Monday Morning at Ten of the Clock.

Juries.

The House did then proceed to the Second Reading of the rest of the Amendments to the Bill for regulating Juries: Which, upon the Second Reading, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Bill from Lords, &c.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Wm. Child and Sir Mondeford Brampston:

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you the Bill for Naturalizing of Dederic alias Richard Comes, and others; with some Amendments; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House: And have also commanded us to acquaint you, That they have concurred with this House to the Alterations and Provisoes, sent from this House, to the Bill for making divers Rivers navigable; The Bill for enabling the Bishop of Winton to settle One hundred Acres of Waltham Parks on the Rector of Bishop Waltham, in lieu of Tythes for the said Parks; and To the Bill for enabling Trustees for the Lord Strangford to sell Lands for Payment of Debts.

Bills sent to Lords.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Meeres do carry up to the Lords the ingrossed Bills for making the River Medway navigable, in the Counties of Kent and Sussex; for the making the River Avon navigable from Christ Church to New Sarum; and for Continuance of a former Act for Repair of the Highways in the County of Hertford; with the Amendments agreed by this House: And that he do also put the Lords in mind of these Four Bills; viz. The Bill for taking away Damage Cleere; To prevent Delays in executing Statutes, Judgments, and Recognizances: For preventing Arrests of Judgments, and superseding Executions; and The Bill touching Costs in trivial and vexatious Actions: And desire the Lords to give Dispatch to those Bills.

Committee of Privileges.

Ordered, That Mr. Steward, Serjeant Maynard, Mr. Goring, and Mr. Thom. Jones, be added to the Committee of Privileges and Elections.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
