Prayers.

Armin's Estate.

AN ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for Sale of the Manor of Ingoldesby, in the County of Lincolne, for raising Portions for the Two Daughters and Coheirs of Sir William Armin the younger, deceased, was read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title be agreed to.

And Sir Thomas Ingram is to carry back the Bill to the Lords.

Privilege.

Ordered, That Thomas Worsley, Servant to Sir John Birkenhead, one of his Majesty's Masters of Request, and a Member of this House, being arrested, and now in Custody, contrary to the Privilege of this House, be forthwith discharged, without Fees.

Falmouth Church.

An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for making the Church erected at Falmouth, a Parish Church; with the Amendments thereto; was read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments, be agreed to; and sent back to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Damage Cleere.

An ingrossed Bill for taking away Damage Cleere, in the County Palatine of Lancaster, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for taking away Damage Cleere, in the County Palatine of Lancaster.

Vintners.

An ingrossed Bill for the better Levying of Penalties upon Retailers of Wine, Ale, and Beer, was read.

Ordered, That these Words, "or by an unlawful Measure," be inserted into the Bill, after the Word "proclaimed."

Which was done.

Improper Alteration of a Bill.

Information being given to the House, That the Bill for levying the Penalties on Retailers of Wine, Ale, and Beer; (which was twice read in the House), was, after it went out to the Committee, much altered by some private Hand, without any Knowledge or Direction of the Committee; and a Bill reported, and ingrossed, much differing from the original Bill, which was committed;

Ordered, That a Committee be appointed to examine the Abuse in altering the Bill for levying Penalties on Retailers of Wine, Ale, and Beer, after the Bill was committed; and bringing in, and reporting a Bill, much differing from the Bill read and committed, without the Privity or Direction of the Committee.

And it is referred to Mr. Vaughan, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Cha. Hussey, Sir Robert Howard, Sir Edw. Walpoole, Mr. Garraway, Sir John Birkenhead, Lord Richardson, Sir Job Charleton, Sir Tho. Gower, Colonel Birch; or any Three of them: And they are to meet this Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And to report the Matter, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Gaming.

Sir Charles Harbord reports from the Committee to which the Bill against excessive, unlawful, and disorderly Gaming, was committed, That the Committee had agreed some Amendments to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

The First Amendment was twice read; and agreed to.

The Second Amendment, being to leave out the last Clause of the Bill, from the Ninth Line of the Third Skin, was twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments, be agreed to; and returned back to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Letter to be sent by Mr. Speaker.

A Letter, to be sent by Mr. Speaker, to the Counties appointed by Acts of Parliament, for the Taxing, Assessing, and Levying of the Eighteen Months Assessment granted to his Majesty; and especially to such of the said Commissioners as acted in the Taxing and Assessing of the said Assessment, and whose Clerks received the Allowance appointed by the said Acts, and to every of them; was read.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock.
