Prayers.

Excise.

ORDERED, That Mr. Henley and Mr. Crouch be added to the Committee to which the additional Bill concerning the Excise is committed: And all the Members of this House, that come to the said Committee, are to have Voices thereat.

Peire's Nat.

A Bill for the confirming an Act for the Naturalization of Peter and John de la Peire alias Peters, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be ingrossed.

Lord Mollineux's Estate.

A Bill to make void certain Conveyances made by the Lord Mollineux in the late Times, was read the Second time.

Ordered, That this Bill be read the Second time Tomorrow Morning.

Supply Bill.

Ordered, That the Petition of Merchants, Tradesmen, Artificers, and others, in and about the City of London, be referred to the Committee of the whole House, for the Bill of Subsidies; to take the same into Consideration; and report their Opinions thereupon to the House.

Relief from Act of Uniformity.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee to which the Bill for the Relief of such Persons who, by reason of their Absence beyond the Seas, Imprisonment, Sickness, or Inadvertency, were hindered from subscribing the Declaration in the Act of Uniformity, That the Committee had perused the said Bill; and made some Amendments thereto: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

And the Amendments were twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed.

Selling live Cattle.

An ingrossed Bill to prevent the Selling of live fat Cattle by Butchers was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act to prevent the Selling of live fat Cattle by Butchers.

Howard's Estate.

Another ingrossed Bill, to confirm a Sale of certain Lands lying in Shropshire, made by Sir Robert Howard, to raise Money to pay his Debts, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act to confirm a Sale of certain Lands lying in Shropshire, made by Sir Robert Howard, to raise Money to pay his Debts.

Poor Relief.

Another ingrossed Bill, for Explaining and Enlarging of an Act made in 43 Eliz. for Relief of the Poor, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for Explaining and Enlarging of an Act made 43° Eliz. for Relief of the Poor.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Littleton do carry up the ingrossed Bills, passed this Day, to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Pluralities.

Sir Charles Harbord reports from the Committee to which the Bill against Pluralities of Ecclesiastical Benefices was committed, That the Committee had perused the Bill; and made some further Provisoes and Clauses, agreed by the Committee, to be made and added to the Bill: Which he opened, and read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

And the First Proviso being twice read;

Ordered, That these Words, "after the Twenty-ninth Day of September next ensuing shall be," be inserted, after the Word "Person."

Ordered, That these Words, "together at one Time; and if any Person or Persons shall hold or enjoy," be inserted, after the Word "Promotions."

Resolved, That the Proviso, so amended, be agreed to.

The next Proviso was twice read.

Ordered, That these Words, "whatsoever having," . . . . ., and the Word "Forty" made "Fifty Pounds."

Resolved, &c. That the Proviso, so amended, be agreed to.

The Question being put, That the Clause concerning Ecclesiastical Dignities shall stand in the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

The Proviso concerning the Uniting of Parishes being twice read;

The Question being put, That the Clause do stand in the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

The last Proviso was twice read; and, on the Question, agreed.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Provisoes agreed to, be ingrossed.

Militia.

The House resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the Bill for the better ordering the Forces in the several Counties of this Kingdom.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Milward took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.

Mr. Milward reports from the Committee, That the Committee had sat, and made some further Progress in the Bill; and desired, That Monday next, the House, would again resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee; and that they will, on Monday Morning next, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill.

Interposition to prevent a Quarrel.

Upon Information of a Duel intended between the Earl of Sunderland, and Mr. Russell, a Member of this House; and that Mr. Speaker had taken care to confine Mr. Russell, till the Pleasure of the House were known;

Ordered, That Mr. Russell do attend the House Tomorrow Morning, to give an Account touching the Matter.

Post Meridiem.

Jacob's, &c. Nat.

AN ingrossed Bill for the Naturalization of Dame Eliz. Jacob, and others . . . . . .

Resolved, That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for the Naturalization of Dame Elizabeth Jacob, and others: And Sir Richard Everard is to carry up the Bill to the Lords for their Concurrence.

Pitearne's Estate.

Mr. Buller reports from the Committee to which the Bill for making good an Assurance of Charles Pitcarne Esquire . . . ., That the Committee had met, and agreed several Amendments to be made to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the Amendments, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, That the said Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Peire's Nat.

Mr. Pryn reports from the Committee, That the Committee had made some Progress in the said Bill; and desired, that the House would, on Monday next, again resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill.

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee; and that they will, on Monday next, resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill.
