Offices in London.

A Bill concerning the Grants of Offices in London, was read the Second time.

The Question being put, That the Bill be committed;

Privilege

Upon Information given to the House, on the Behalf of Sir Richard Oateley, That Robert Madox had caused Actions to be brought, in Ejectment, against the said Sir Richard Oateley, and his Tenants, to try the Title of certain Lands in the County of Salop, to which the said Sir Richard makes Claim; in Breach of the Privilege of this House;

Ordered, That all further Proceedings at Law against Sir Richard Oateley, and his Tenants, by Robert Maddox, or his Agents, be stayed during the Session of this present Parliament.

Howard's Estate.

Mr. Milward reports from the Committee to which the Bill for confirming a Sale of Lands, made by Sir Robert Howard, was committed, That the Committee had carefully perused the Bill; and heard all Parties concerned; and had agreed some Amendments to be made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

And the Amendments being twice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to;

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "at Four Pounds per Centum," be inserted in the Bill, instead of the Words "as the Law shall allow."

Which was done accordingly.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments and Alterations agreed to, be ingrossed.

Regulating the Press.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to inspect the Act for regulating the Press, be revived; and do sit To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Place formerly appointed.

Supply Bill.

Ordered, That the House will sit this Afternoon, for the Reading of the Bill of Subsidies the Second time; and will, To-morrow Morning, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill.

Sectaries, &c.

The ingrossed Bill to prevent the Meeting of Sectaries, Un-conformists, and Dissenters from the Church of England, was read.

A Proviso was tendered, on the Behalf of such as were aiding and assisting to the Duke of Albermarle, and Earl of Sandwich, in restoring his Majesty; and read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be read the Second time;

It passed in the Negative.

Another Proviso, on the Behalf of such as do frequent the Service at the Church, and receive the Sacrament thrice every Year, was read.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be read the Second time;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

And so it passed in the Negative.

A Proviso was tendered to be added to the Bill, for prosecuting for Offences against the Act by a Time.

And some Amendments being made thereto; and, upon the Question, agreed;

It passed in the Negative.

The Question being put, That these Words, "and being met, under Pretence of any Exercise of Religion, in other Manner than is allowed by the Liturgy of the Church of England," be added in the Bill, after the Word "Family;"
