Prayers.

Crown Lands.

ORDERED, That a Bill be prepared and brought in to vacate all such Deeds and Assurances of Lands or Rents, belonging to the Crown, as were made by the late usurped Powers; and to cancel the Inrollment of such of the said Deeds as are inrolled: And that it be referred to Sir Lancelot Lake, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Milward, Sir Francis Goodrick, Mr. Street, and Sir Edmund Peirse, or any Two of them, to prepare and bring in the Bill.

Ordered, That it be referred to the same Members, or any Two of them, to bring in the Bill, formerly ordered to be brought in by Mr. Rigby (who is now absent upon urgent Occasions), to make void all Deeds and Securities given by the loyal Party to the usurped Powers, for their quiet Demeanor in the late Times of Trouble.

Committees.

Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill for regulating Vestries was committed; and the Committee appointed to inspect the Act concerning Quakers; and to prepare and bring in such Supplies thereto; and for preventing the Meetings of Sectaries as they should find necessary; be revived; and have Leave to sit this Afternoon at Two of the Clock, at the Places appointed.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Swinfen, having urgent Occasions in the Country, be dispensed with for a Fortnight for not attending the House.

Defaulter's Fine remitted.

Ordered, That Mr. Yorke, having been sick, and not able to attend the Service of this House, be discharged of the Fine of Five Pounds, imposed on him for his Default: And that his Attendance be dispensed with for a Fortnight.

Captives in Turkey.

A Petition of divers Persons who have redeemed themselves, or their Relations, from the Slavery they were in under the Turks, was read.

The Question being put, That the said Petition be rejected;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Privilege.

Ordered, That John Holland, and others, who stood committed to the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege by him committed against Mr. Barnaby, be, by Consent of the said Mr. Barnaby, discharged of their Commitment.

Milford Light House.

A Bill for erecting a Light House near Milford Haven was read.

The Question being put, That the Bill be thrown out;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Willoughby's &c. Nat.

Colonel Kirkby reports from the Committee to which the Bill for naturalizing George Willoughby, and others, was committed, That they had carefully perused the Certificates on the Behalf of the several Persons therein named; and found the same to be perfect; and that the Committee had returned the Bill without any Amendments.

Ordered, That the Names of Bevill Skelton, Henry Linckeback, and Cornelius Van Bommell, whose Certificates were produced to, and allowed by, the House, be inserted into the Bill for Naturalization: And that the Bill be ingrossed.

E. of Portland's Estate.

Mr. Croke reports from the Committee to which the ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for settling an Annuity of Three hundred Pounds per Annum upon Charles Earl of Portland, and for the Benefit of Willoughby Whitelocke, Bulstrode Whitlocke, and Carlton Whitlocke, Infants; and for Confirming of Agreements made to compose Suits in Law against them; was committed; That the Committee had carefully perused the Bill, and taken into Consideration the Interest of all Parties concerned; and found the Bill very just and equitable; and saw no Omission or Defect therein; and, therefore, had returned the same back to the House, without any Alteration.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be read the Third time To-morrow Morning.

St. Oswald's Hospital.

Mr. Street reports from the Committee to which the Bill for the Regulation of the Hospital of St. Oswald, in the County of Worcester, was committed, several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

And the said Amendments being read the First time;

The several Amendments precedent to the Amendment to the Fifteenth Line of the Third Page were read the Second time; and, on the Question, severally agreed to.

The Amendment to the Fifteenth Line of the Third Page was read the Second time.

Ordered, That the Word "Five" be inserted, instead of "Three," in That Amendment.

Which was done accordingly.

Resolved, &c. That the Amendments, so altered, be agreed to.

The subsequent Amendments were read the Second time; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Newport's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill to enable John Newport Esquire to enter into certain Messuages lying in Westminster, was read.

And some Amendments being made thereto at the Table; and agreed to;

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act to enable John Newport Esquire to enter into certain Messuages lying in Westminster.

Ordered, That Mr. Crouch do carry up the Bill to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Militia.

The House then did resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the Additional Bill for the better ordering the Forces in the several Counties of this Kingdom.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Mr. Milward took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker again took the Chair.

Mr. Milward reports from the Committee, That the Committee had made some further Progress in the said Bill; and desired that the House would again resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House on Thursday next, to resume the Debate upon the said Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the House will, on Thursday next, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to resume the Debate upon the said Bill.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir John Moreton have the Leave of this House to be absent for a Fortnight from his Attendance upon this House.

Exchequer Decrees.

Ordered, That these Members following be added to the Committee to which the Bill for confirming Two Decrees made in the Duchy and Exchequer; viz. Mr. Cornwallis, Sir Hum. Winch, Mr. Finch, Sir Fra. Goodrick, Sir Rich. Oatley, Sir Hen. Peckam, Mr. Walden, Mr. Burlace, Mr. Williams, Sir Geo. Ryve, Mr. Hatton, Sir Robert Holt, Colonel Wanklyn, Mr. Thurland.

Lyndsey Level.

Ordered, That Colonel Wanklyn, Sir Cha. Cottrell, Mr. Ernley, and Colonel Reames, be added to the Committee to which the Bill for Lyndsey Level is committed.

Common Fields.

Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill for Common Fields is committed, be revived: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Place formerly appointed.

Corporations.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to inspect the Act for regulating Corporations, be impowered to summon and hear the Parties concerned, and such Persons as they shall find necessary to be examined, upon any Complaints that shall come before them; and, if any Persons summoned shall refuse to attend, to report their Contempt therein to the House, that further Order may be given therein.
