DANIELL Tripier, Peter Rouscean, John L' Roy, and Thomas Verbeque, did this Day take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy, in order to their being naturalized.

Prayers.

Pitcarne's Estate.

A Bill for the making good an Assurance of Charles Pitcarne Esquire, of certain Lands in Twickenham in the County of Middlesex, and enabling him to make Sale of other Lands, for the Payment of Debts, was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Friday next.

Newport's Estate.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee to which the Bill to make void a Fine, set up to bar the Right of Mr. Newport, was committed; several Amendments to the said Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence, in his Place; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Which Amendments, being twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Ecclesiastical Records.

Ordered, That his Majesty be humbly moved, to give Order to the Lord Fanshaw, his Remembrancer of the Exchequer, to deliver such Deeds and Writings as he hath in his Custody, concerning Advowsons, Rectories Impropriate, Annuities, or other Matters, which were extorted from any Members of this House, or other his Majesty's loyal Subjects, upon their Composition to the respective Persons to whom the same do belong, according to a late Act of Parliament for restoring of all such Advowsons, Rectories Impropriate, Glebe Lands, and Tythes, to his Majesty's loyal Subjects, as were taken from them; and making void certain Charges imposed on them upon their Composition for Delinquency by the late usurped Powers: And Colonel Kirkby, Colonel Robinson, and Mr. Yorke, are to attend his Majesty with this Message.

Privilege.

Ordered, * Scotton be sent for in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for his Contempt of the Order of this House, in refusing to bring in such Bonds as were given by certain loyal Persons on their Imprisonment, or appearing and giving an Account what is become of them, although he hath been served with the Order.

Post Office, &c.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Sub Committee appointed to inspect those Two Branches of his Majesty's Revenue, which do arise by the Post Office and Wine Licences, to take into their Consideration the Case of such Persons as formerly had Licences by Patent for Retailing of Wines; and also the Case of the Haberdashers of the City of London, in relation to the Privilege by them claimed, of Selling of Wine; or any other Matter which shall be offered to them; and do make Report thereof to the House.

Killigrew's, &c. Nat.

An ingrossed Bill for Naturalizing of Charlotte Hessen Killigrew, and others, was this Day read.

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for Naturalizing of Charlotte Hessen Killigrew, and others.

Taudin's Nat.

Resolved, &c. That the Name of James Taudin be inserted into the Bill, now depending, for Naturalizing of George Willoughby, and others.

Mersey, &c. Navigation.

An ingrossed Bill for the making navigable the Rivers of Mersey, was this Day read.

A Proviso was tendered to be made Part of the Bill: And, being read and debated;

Resolved, &c. That it be referred to the former Committee, to prepare and bring in a Proviso or Provisoes, for the limiting a Time for making the Rivers navigable; and to make the Rates general for other Commodities, as well as Salt; and to provide, that a Rate be not set for Carriage, where the Rivers are already navigable; and to make the Bill extend to both the Counties of Lancaster and Chester; and to provide for an Appeal from the Commissioners to the Sessions of each County: And the said Committee is hereby revived: And they are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber, on Friday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Ordered, That the further Consideration of this Bill be adjourned till after Easter.

Sumptuary Laws, &c.

The House then resumed the Debate upon the last Proposal from the Committee appointed to provide Sumptuary Laws, and to prevent Encroachments in Trade by Jews, and French, and other Foreigners.

Which Proposal was read; and, upon Debate, amended; and was as followeth; viz.

"That his Majesty be humbly desired by the House, That no Consulship be continued, or hereafter granted, in any Place, but at the Desire of the respective Merchants trading to that Place; and at such Allowances and Charges only as the Merchants shall consent to give them."

The Question being put, To agree to the Proposal, so amended;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

The House adjourned itself till Eight Clock, Tomorrow Morning.
