Bedford Level.

ORDERED, That the Committee to which the Two Bills concerning the Draining of Bedford Level were committed, have Leave to sit on Monday next, notwithstanding the Order for the Committee for Trade to sit.

Adulteration of Lead.

A Bill on the Behalf of the Plumbers, to prevent Abuses in the Adulteration of Lead, was read the First time.

The Question being put, That this Bill be read the Second time;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went out.

And so it passed in the Negative.

Packington's Estate.

Mr. Crouch reports from the Committee to which the Bill to enable Sir John Packington, and his Trustees, to sell and dispose . . Lands for Payment of Debts, and Provision for younger Children, That the Committee had carefully perused and considered of the Bill; and found Cause only to make one Amendment thereto: Which was twice read; and, on the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendment agreed to, be ingrossed.

Fish Spawn.

Ordered, That the Bill, brought in to preserve the Spawn of Fish, and Fishing in fresh Rivers, be read on Monday Morning.

Exchequer Decrees.

A Bill for confirming Two Decrees, made in the Duchy, and Exchequer, for settling certain Inclosures of Lands, was read the Second time.

Brewers.

A Petition being tendered on the Behalf of the Brewers of the City of Norwich;

And there being another Petition of the Brewers of London, and Places adjacent, and also a Petition of the Corporation of Brewers of the City of Bristol, lately brought in; which Two last Petitions were referred to the Committee of the whole House, for his Majesty's Revenue; but That Committee not having since met, no Proceedings have been had thereupon.

Ordered, That the Petition of the Master, Wardens, and Company of the Brewers of the City of London, and Places adjacent, be referred to the Sub Committee, appointed by the Committee of the whole House, to inspect that Branch of his Majesty's Revenue, which does arise by the Excise; to take the said Petition into their Consideration; and to summon and hear all Parties concerned: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And to make Report of their Proceedings, and Opinions therein, to the House: And that the said Sub Committee be made a Committee of the House: And shall have Leave to sit on Monday next, notwithstanding the Order for the Sitting of the Committee of Trade.

An ingrossed Bill to enable Edward Challoner Esquire to make Provision for his Wife, and younger Children, was read.

A Bill for the better regulating Common Fields, was read the Second time.

Mr. Solicitor General reports, That he had attended the Lords, to desire their Concurrence to the Vote of this House, for Thanks to be returned to his Majesty for his gracious Message: And that the Lords had returned Answer, That they had considered of the Message; and did fully agree to the Vote of this House: And that they had appointed Six of their Members to attend his Majesty; and desired this House to name a double Number of their Members, to join with them: And as soon as they had Notice when his Majesty would be attended, they would give Intimation of it to this House.

Ordered, That Mr. Solicitor General, Mr. Fane, Mr. Clifford, Sir Edw. Walpoole, Sir Wm. Ministers Maintenance.

The House resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the Bill for the Increase of the Maintenance of Ministers in Towns Corporate and Market Towns.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Tho. Meres reports, That the Committee had made some further Progress in the said Bill; and the Opinion of the Committee, That the House would, on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Morning, resolve itself into a Committee again, to take the said Bill into further Consideration.

Resolved, &c. That the House, on Tuesday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Morning, will resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to take into further Consideration, the Bill for Increase of the Maintenance of Ministers, in Cities, Towns Corporate, and Market Towns.
