Leave of Absence.
ORDERED, That Mr. George Clerke, a Member of this House, have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.
Bedford Level.
Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill concerning the Great Level of the Fens, called Bedford Level, was committed; and some of the Amendments to the said Bill were, by Order, re-committed: shall have Power, and are hereby impowered, to send for such Laws of Sewers, and other Records, and Papers or Persons, as they shall find necessary.
Regulating the Press.
An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, to prevent the frequent Abuses in printing seditious, treasonable, and unlicensed Books and Pamphlets; and for regulating Printing and Printing Presses; was this Day read the First time.
Briscoe's Portion.
Ordered, That Sir James Smith, Mr. Winston Churchill, Sir John Strode, Mr. Cofferer, Sir Tho. Allen, Mr. John Churchill, Colonel Legg, and Sir Peter Killigrew, be added to the Committee to which the Bill for Sale of Lands for Payment of the Portion of Mrs. Briscoe was committed.
Goldsmith's Wares.
Ordered, That the Committee to which the Bill for regulating the Goldsmiths Trade was committed, be revived; and do sit To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Place formerly appointed.
And it is referred to the said Committee, to consider of the Bill, depending in this House, for regulating Abuses in Gold and Silver Wire; and to see whether the Substance thereof may, by way of Proviso, be provided for in the Goldsmiths Bill.
And Sir Richard Oatley is added to the said Committee; and is to acquaint them with the Proceedings of the former Committee.

An Act for Naturalizing of Mark Le Pla, and others, was this Day read the First time.
Royal Assent to Bills.
A Message from the Lords, by Sir John Eyton Knight, Usher of the Black Rod;
Mr. Speaker, The Lord Chancellor hath commanded me to acquaint you, That his Majesty hath issued his Commission to certain of the House of Peers, to give his Royal Assent to certain Bills: And the Lords, to that End, desire that this honourable House would attend there.
Mr. Speaker, with the House, accordingly went up to the House of Lords:
And, returning again;
Mr. Speaker reports, That his Majesty had issued his Commission to the Lord High Chancellor, Lord High Treasurer, Lord Privy Seal, the Duke of Albemarle, the Marquis of Dorchester, and Montague Earl of Lindsey, Lord High Chamberlain, to give his Royal Assent to the Bill concerning the Repairing of the Highways and Streets in and near London and Westminster, and Parts adjacent; and to the Bill against Quakers: And that the Lords appointed had executed their Commission; and the said Bills were passed.
Lyndsey Level.
The House then resumed the Hearing of the Cause between Sir William Killigrew, and other Adventurers, and Sir Charles Hussey, a Member of the House, concerning the Level of the Fens, called Lyndsey Level.
And the Counsel being called in to the Bar of the House; and, at large, heard, in stating the Title and Claim of each Party; and several Witnesses being produced at the Bar, and examined, and cross-examined, on both Sides; and several Deeds being read;
And a pretended Verdict of Sewers, and a Deed in the Thirteenth Year of the late King, being produced, and offered in Evidence, on the Behalf of Sir Charles Hussey; but no Witnesses being produced to make Proof thereof;
Resolved, upon the Question, That Sir Charles Hussey have Liberty, on Monday Morning, the first Sitting of the House, to produce his Witnesses, to prove the Verdict of Sewers and Deed, of the Thirteenth of the late King, now produced; and the other Side then to make their Reply: And the Committee to which the Bill was committed are then to make their Report; and the House will then proceed thereupon.
Committees.
Resolved, That all Committees which were to meet this Afternoon be adjourned; and do meet To-morrow in the Afternoon.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, at Eight of the Clock.
