London Writ.
ORDERED, That Mr. Speaker do grant his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, for the issuing of a new Writ to the Sheriffs of London, for the Election of a Citizen, in the Place of Alderman Fowke, one of the Members of this House serving as a Citizen for the said City of London, lately deceased.
Pye's Estate.
A Bill to enable Walter Pye Esquire to sell Lands to pay Debts, was this Day read the Second time.
Resolved, That the said Bill be committed to Mr. Westphaling, Sir Herbert Price, Mr. Street, Mr. Finch, Mr. Bulteele, Mr. York, Sir John Shaw, Serjeant Rainsford, Mr. Rigby, Sir Rich. Ford, Colonel Gilby, Colonel Bishop, Sir Rich. Oatley, Sir Rich. Onslow, Mr. Crouch, Mr. Oakley, Mr. Knight, Sir Edm. Pye, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Clifford Clifton, Sir John Brampston, Mr. Smith, Sir John Rouse, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Clerke, Colonel Robinson, Colonel Lane, Mr. Morris, Sir Jeoffrey Shackerley, Colonel Phillips, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Sir Tho. Gower, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Price, Mr. Roger Vaughan, and all the Members of this House that serve for the County of Hereford: And they are to meet in the Speaker's Chamber, at Two of the Clock this Afternoon: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records; and to examine how the Debts were contracted; and to hear all Persons concerned.
Northampton Election.
Serjeant Charlton reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, touching the Election for the Town of Northampton, between Sir William Dudley, and Sir James Langham, That there were several Persons who had Right to give their Voices in the Election, that did demand the Poll, and were denied it; and that the Matter was so intricate, that the Committee could not determine what the Number was, of those who had Right to give their Voices, and were denied the Poll: And therefore, for this Reason, the Committee was of Opinion, that the Election, as to Sir James Langham, was a void Election.
Resolved, upon the Question, That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Election for the Town of Northampton, as to Sir James Langham, was a void Election.
Northampton Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do make out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, for the Issuing of a Writ for a new Election for the Town of Northampton.
Regulating the Excise.
Ordered, That the Bill for regulating the Excise be read on Monday Morning.
Uniformity of Worship.
The House then resumed the Debate upon the Amendments to the Bill of Uniformity, as to the last Paragraph of the Parchment, marked N° 4, touching an Allowance of Fifths to such as shall not conform, but lose their Livings.
The Question being propounded, That Amendments be made to the Proviso touching the Allowance of Fifths, to such as shall not conform;
The Question being put, Whether the Question shall be now put;
The House was divided.

The House then resumed the Amendment, as to the Title of the Bill, sent from the Lords; which was, by Order, postponed.
And the same, being twice read, was, upon the Question, agreed.
The next Amendment, beginning with the Word "nevertheless," in the Sixteenth Amendment of the First Paper, sent from the Lords, which was also postponed, was read the Second time.
The Question being put, To agree to the said Amendment;
It passed in the Negative.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Sir Clement Throckmorton have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.
