Prayers.

Flax and Hemp.

A BILL for the Sowing of Flax and Hemp was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, That the said Bill be committed to Colonel Birch, Mr. Knight, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir John Brampston, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Clifford Clifton, Mr. Milward, Colonel Reames, Colonel Bishop, Mr. Wandesford, Sir James Smith, Mr. Clarke, Sir Tho. Gower, Mr. Westphaling, Serjeant Charlton, Sir Abraham Cullen, Mr. Moore, Colonel Robinson, Sir Edm. Peirse, Mr. Morris, Sir Rich. Ford, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Phil. Warwick, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Roger Bradshaigh, Sir Fra. Clerke, Mr. Clifford, Mr. Stroude, Mr. Chetwyn, Sir John Rouse, Mr. Crouch, Sir Tho. Bludworth, Sir Edm. Pye, Mr. Yorke, Colonel Wanklyn, Sir Geo. Grubham How, Mr. Elliot, Dr. Burwell, Sir Cha. Hussey, Mr. Jones: And all the Members that come are to have Voices: And they are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Exporting Wool.

An ingrossed Bill against the Exporting of Wool and Wool-fells, &c. was this Day read the Third time.

The Question being put, That all the Clauses which do relate to Tallow, be struck out of the Bill;

It was resolved in the Affirmative: And

Ordered, That Mr. Knight, Mr. Jolly, Colonel Birch, Sir Rich. Ford, Sir Tho. Bludworth, do look into the Bill; and expunge the Clauses concerning Tallow out of the Bill.

Conference desired with Lords.

Ordered, That Sir Allan Brodrick do go up to the Lords, to desire a Conference upon that Amendment by them sent down for a Proviso touching Exeter House, to be added to the Bill for repairing the Streets and Highways in and near the Cities of London and Westminster; as to which Amendment only this House and the Lords did differ.

Highways.

The House did resume the Matter upon the Bill for repairing and enlarging the common Highways.

And Sir Lancelot Lake reported several Amendments to be further made to the Bill: Which he read, with the Coherence; and after, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And the same were thrice read; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, That the Bill be amended accordingly.

The Question being put, That the Clause for Continuing of the Powers in the Act, save as to the Raising of Money, be continued till the End of the First Session of the next Parliament;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

A Proviso for erecting a Bridge at Hillingdon in Middlesex for Coaches and Carriages, instead of an Horse Bridge now there, was twice read.

Ordered, That these Words, "the Residue of the Charge to be born by," be inserted into the Proviso.

Which was done accordingly; and the Proviso read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Proviso, so amended, be agreed to, and made Part of the Bill.

Another Proviso touching the Highways between Gloucester and Bristoll, according to the Statute of 1 Mariæ, was Three times read; and, upon the Question, laid aside.

A Proviso touching the Inhabitants near Oxon, was read; and laid aside.

Resolved, That the Bill, with the several Amendments and Provisoes agreed to, do pass: And that the Title shall be, An Act for repairing and enlarging the common Highways: And that the former Committee do see, That the Amendments be made, and Provisoes ingrossed and added; so as the Bill, and the several Amendments and Provisoes, may cohere and agree.

Hockley, &c. Road.

Ordered, That Sir John Duncomb have Leave to bring in a Bill for the Taking of a reasonable Toll of Coaches, Waggoners, Carriers, and Passengers, towards the Repair of the Highways between Hockley and Dunstable, in the County of Bedford.

Bills from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Moundeford Brampston and Sir Toby Woolrich;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have returned you a Bill for regulating the Making of Stuffs in Norfolk and Norwich; with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And they also desire this House would expedite the Two Bills; one concerning Lindsey Level; and the other concerning Hatfeild Level in the Fens.

Customs, &c.

Ordered, That the Amendments to the Bill for regulating Customs, sent from the Lords, be read, and the Report touching the Fees of the Officers heard, on Saturday Morning next; and nothing else to intervene.

Uniformity of Worship.

The House then proceeded upon the remaining Amendment to the Bill for Uniformity; and That Part of the Paragraph concerning the Allowance to such as are in Livings, and will be outed by this Act.

Ordered, That the Debate be adjourned till Saturday.

Ordered, That Sir Henry North have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.

Ordered, That Colonel Jonathan Trelawney have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.

Wey Navigation.

Ordered, That Colonel Gilby, Mr. Scot, Dr. Birkinhead, Mr. Musgrave, Colonel Gray, Sir Hen. Puckering alias Newton, and Mr. Puckering alias Newton, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for making navigable the River Wey in Surrey, is committed.

And then the House adjourned till Saturday Morning next, Eight of the Clock.
